I agreed to staying for dinner. I didn't want to but only because Sebastian asked so damn nicely that I thought why not endure this bullshit dinner between Neah and her dick boyfriend Nick.

And I decided that if I'm staying here I am going to get my kick out of this. I took a seat the table and woah, Mr.Tidas really went all out. And it's not like he can't cook either. Sebastian took a seat and so did Neah. She took a seat opposite my seat.

There was a ring at the door and Neah nearly broke the chair getting up. Mr.Tidas set one last plate down before sitting beside me. "I got it!" She beams, rushing out of our view to get the door.

When she left I snuck a kiss. I pulled away quickly and Neah returned back with Nick and bouquet of flowers. He's such a snob. I've never seen him buy flowers before. Neah ushered him to the table and Sebastian cleared his throat, standing to his feet.

Nick held out his hand and Sebastian took it, shaking his hand. "Mr.Tidas, good evening, sir." Nick says smiling widely.

"Evening Nick. I've heard so little about you." Sebastian jokes. Nick grinned and Neah scowled.

"Dad." She says in a warning tone.

"I'm joking Neah."

"I'm going to put these flowers in my room. Babe you could get settled in until I get back." She gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Babe, I said try not to get me killed."

She just rolled her eyes and disappeared upstairs. Sebastian motioned for him to take a seat and Nick did. His eyes finally reached me and his excited smile seemed to falter. I wanted to flip him off so hard but I held it back.

"Beck, hi. Neah told me you were going to be here. Well I heard what your parents did and I'm sorry to hear that. But I think you'll be fine. Mr.Tidas is a good man for allowing you to stay in his house for free." He smiles.

Okay motherfucker. I know your game. Bad time to pick that shit up with me though. Because I don't know if you know Nick prick, but daddy and I are great friends.

I just smiled, leaning forward. I gave Sebastian a pat on his shoulder, which made him look at me. I know he's screaming for me to cut it out, but like I said, I'm going to go through this dinner the way I deem comfortable.

"You are a great man Mr.Tidas. I'm not sure I thank you enough."

He chuckled nervously. "You do so enough. Happy to help."

I moved my hand and looked at Nick, shrugging slightly. Neah returned and eased into her seat.

"Hopefully I wasn't gone too long."

"Nope, just in time." Says Sebastian.

We served ourselves and soon the conversations began. They just introduced themselves to each other, exchanging full names, age, birthdays, what Nick's major is. He answered confidently. Now I know Nick isn't an idiot, but the way he's speaking is making me want to gouge my eyes out.

This food on the other hand? My goodness.

"I'm planning on marrying her."

I choked. Why is that the only thing I picked up? Sebastian pat my back as I regained myself.

"Are you alright?" He asks.

"Except for the fact that I almost died? Yeah." I glanced at Nick and he shook his head.

"Like I said, I plan on marrying her sir. Neah and I have been together for so long that I just think that I'm ready to settle down with her after graduation. I-if you allow it of course."

I dropped my spoon and cussed. As I knelt down to get it I whispered to Sebastian. "He's a dick." Hopefully he heard it. I came back up and stood up.

"I have to change my spoon."

Beck went to the kitchen and I gazed over at the young man. Neah seems headstrong about the guy and he looks like he makes her happy. Then again, Beck is whispering other things in my ear. She even said this before I eventually met the kid.

"Umm...that's if you pass the test. You can say you lovely daughter to my face and behind close doors it could be another font. I don't want to say yes so quickly whenever you ask to take my daughter's hand. She is my only girl after all."

He nodded in understanding. "I understand sir. I assure you I won't let you down."

Beck made it back with her new spoon and grabbed more food. She sure can eat. It got kind of quiet around the table and to be honest it was a bit awkward to say the least.

"I'm moving in with Nick." Neah blurts out. "After exams are over."

It hurt hearing that. I'm really going to be a lonely old man in this house cooking all for myself. I've noticed how distant Neah has gotten but I just blamed it on school and work. What if it wasn't all just work and school?

It's been Nick to. "She has no problem lying to you." It's what Beck said. Exactly what has she been lying about? About going to work? About Nick? What could my own daughter be keeping from me?

"Neah, it could have waited." Nick says to her.

"No, Nick, I'm not a little girl anymore. And dad, I'm sorry but you'll have to let me go eventually. I'm not going to live here forever."

Why do I feel...sad? I felt a hand rest on my thigh, pulling my from my thoughts. This is her third time doing something risky in the open.

I forced back an emotional bomb and nodded slightly. "You're right sweetheart. You're a woman now. You graduate in a year and you're already considering marriage. I'll have to let you go eventually."

"You'll have to let me go eventually, Seb, I won't be here forever."

"I know but

"Just take care of Neah for us."

"Dad?"

I set my fork down and got up. "Excuse me." I went upstairs and into my room. I eased the door close behind me and felt a pant in my chest. I haven't thought about Neah's mom like that in a while. Those words Neah said to me just...God.

I'll lost both my girls.
