------------Narrator's POV------------
It's been a couple of months since Tsuki became a member of the Occult Club, and as they promised him, they've been training him to use his powers. Sasaki found some old abandoned school, there they tested out Tsuki's powers and he's been getting good at controlling them. Right now Yuji stood in front of Tsuki holding a baseball. Sasaki and Iguchi stood on the sidelines with two baskets of baseballs. Tsuki looked at Yuji nervous.
Tsuki: "So...what are we trying now?"
Yuji: "Well, we already got down your combat skills, so I was thinking about working on your defense skills."
Tsuki: "Defense?"
Yuji: "Yeah. I mean, how even strong are your tree roots? Can they protect you?"
Tsuki never thought about that before. He remembers times when his father would go to punch him, he would his powers to protect himself, but his father was always able to punch through the wood and hit him. He then was punished for using his powers.
Tsuki: "Well, no. They're not good at protecting me."
Sasaki: "Oh, have you tested it before?"
Tsuki: "No, whenever my father goes to punch me, I would subconsciously use my powers to protect me from the punch...but he just punches right through the wood."
Yuji's eyes widened as he dropped the baseball from his hand, they looked at Tsuki shocked at what he just said.
Iguchi: "Wait...your father punches you?"
Tsuki looked at them confused, as if THEY were the crazy ones.
Tsuki: "Um yeah. Doesn't your dad punch you?"
Sasaki: "NO!"
Yuji: "If I had parents I'm pretty sure they wouldn't punch me."
Tsuki looked at them dumbfounded as if their normal lives weren't normal at all.
Iguchi: "Dude...why would your father punch you?"
Tsuki looked at him confused, as if he just asked him a stupid question.
Tsuki: "He needs a reason?"
Yuji clenched his fists in anger. He couldn't believe what he just heard, and he was getting pissed. The other two looked at Tsuki horrified. Tsuki got nervous and uncomfortable.
Tsuki: "Um, can we go back to training please?"
The other two nodded their heads, while Yuji bent down and picked up the baseball that he dropped. He moved his arm back and Tsuki sprouted two tree roots in front of him to protect himself. Yuji then threw the ball, he wanted to go soft first, so he didn't end up hurting Tsuki, but he wasn't thinking straight, he couldn't stop thinking about what Tsuki just told them about his father beating him up. He was so pissed off that he threw the baseball a bit too hard. The ball slammed into the tree roots and shattered the wood. The ball then hit Tsuki square in the face. He let out a scream of pain and that's what snapped Yuji out of it. His eyes widened and he felt guilty for hurting Tsuki.
Yuji: "TSUKI!"
Sasaki and Iugchi dropped the baskets and they ran over to the golden-eyed boy. Tsuki lay on the ground while covering his nose as he whimpered in pain.
Yuji: "Shit, Tsuki. I am SO sorry. I didn't mean to throw it that hard!"
He helped Tsuki sit up and used his sleeve to cover his nose. Tsuki opened his eyes as he teared up in pain. Yuji's heart skipped a beat as his face turned a shade of red.
