"Logan, I need to talk-... Oh, are you busy?" Roman stopped short as he spotted Logan going through two notepads and writing things into a third. Logan frowned as he gestured to the books as Roman sat beside him.

"I'm just going over the notes that Sharpe and I took from the meetings. He seemed very adept at noticing things that I hadn't first taken the time to think about."

"Well, he is mute. Those with things like that tend to be very observant." Logan shook his head as he gently pushed the book over for Roman to read.

"These are Sharpe's notes." Roman's eyes widened as he took the book and looked it over. It was far neater than he would have thought. "For a supposed 'Street rat' as he said he was, he knows enough about important meetings like this to know what to look for. Most of our notes were the same, save for me noting more fae things, and him noting more out-of-the-box things."

"I'm glad, he was able to help then. I-... Wait. Street rat? What is a street rat?" Logan tensed up for a second, his gaze firmly on the book before him, almost as if he hadn't heard the prince at all. "Logan. What is a street rat?"

"He called himself that. I was confused myself so I spoke to Patton." Logan's voice went quiet as he gently pushed his book away. "According to Patton, 'street rat' is a very derogatory term used for people who had no home. They couldn't work because they were seen as filthy. Which meant they had to steal just to get by. Often times they were young boys that were kicked out of their homes with nowhere to go."

"Patton had said once that chances are Sharpe had been in those woods for a very long time. Do... Do you think he lived there? He's young compared to other humans I've seen. How long had he been without a home?"

"I don't suppose that matters much, My prince. As he has one now?" Roman's eyes softened as he stared down at the book, feeling this... anger welling up in him.

"The humans hurt him so much and he was one of their kind. I-... I'm glad we found him. I'm glad I saved him." Logan smiled as Roman handed the book back over. "That being said... I did come here for a reason. Do you suppose you have the time to answer a question I might have?" Roman chuckled a bit seeing the curiosity in Logan's eyes. "I wanted to know more about mates." Logan's eyes shot wide as he jerked up, shock evident in his eyes as Roman continued on. "I had been meaning to ask Remus about it since he had found his but I just never got the chance."

"You want to know about mates?" Roman faltered hearing the shake in Logan's voice. "You... Devo... Are you sure? Wait..." Logan narrowed his eyes as he looked over the other before sighing. "Does this have anything to do with Sharpe?"

"I'm confused. Why would I being curious about mates have anything to do with Poppet?" Logan just shot the other a look before rolling his eyes in exasperation.

"How could it not, Devo?" Roman frowned as Logan slowly pushed himself up, making his way over to a bookcase over by the wall. Roman watched as the other skimmed the titles before letting out a breath.

"It doesn't have anything to do with him. I can promise that. It's just I don't know anything about it all, you know? Considering how I said I would never have one..." Roman stopped short as Logan glanced over his shoulder, eyes clear with annoyance.

"I said the same thing too, Sir, and ended up Mated to Patton several years later."

"But that's my point, Logan. How does that even work?" Logan paused for a bit seeing how frustrated Roman was getting. "Are there rules... traditions? I'm a summer fae. I should know this but..."

"Honestly, Sir, if you're serious about this... whatever your reason may be... I would do some research. Patton and I did something simple just... vowing to each other but there are more ways to go about it." Roman paled as he quickly shook his head.
