"Have you worked through this book already?" Logan asked with a slight narrowing in his eyes. Virgil huffed as he nodded, not liking the disbelief the fae was showing him. Logan just frowned as he took the book, skimming through it to see the writing and everything, before just setting it down and getting back to his own work. "Well, your penmanship and spelling still need work but your basic understanding of writing in itself is farther than I thought. Your writing must have been negatively influenced that first day due to injury and not by the assumed illiteracy."
"Here." Logan handed over another book without even looking making Virgil have to stumble a bit to grab it. "You might finish that one earlier than expected as well given that fact. So instead of working on the words themselves, I want you to focus on how you are writing them. Penmanship is just as important as understanding the written word. When you are finished please return it to me and we will determine our next step from there." Virgil nodded before stumbling towards the library doors only to hear a sigh behind him making him stop. "Did Patton pick that outfit out?"
Virgil tensed as looked down at the dark purple button-up and black slacks. Patton wanted to make up for anything that had happened over the red shirt so he asked to pick his outfit today. Although Virgil did remind him that only Logan said anything, he still felt bad. Of course with Logan bringing up his outfit again he was worried. Was purple a bad color too? But Virgil actually liked the purple...
"I only ask because he had mentioned that the red shirt was his choice as well." Virgil nodded hesitantly, not wanting to cause Patton to get into any more trouble if that's what was happening. Logan smiled softly as he nodded still focusing on his work instead of looking up at Virgil, but then again Virgil knew the only ones Logan ever made proper eye contact with were The prince and Patton, so he wasn't expecting it. "It looks good. I'm not one for fashion or anything like that but Patton does have that... human eye for things... and you know now why I said not to wear red around the prince." Virgil let out a breath of relief before placing his fingers to his lips and pushing them out to say thank you making Logan's smile grow just a tad more. The Fae was stern and restricted but he had his moments where he was soft. Or at least as much as he would allow himself to be with anyone that wasn't Patton. "Have a good day."
Virgil beamed as he raced out of the library heading towards his room. He had the day off so he could do some of the schooling that Logan provided through his books. He didn't want to stress out his body too much that day as he was in the garden the next day. He hadn't planned on doing much but Logan had called for him. Thankfully the fae had just given him something to do, so he was happy.
"Poppet?" Virgil stopped in his tracks causing him to slide a bit as Roman just quirked the side of his lips into a small hesitant smile. The prince's eyes made a slow drag over Virgil's form taking everything in before frowning ever so slightly. "You're not wearing red today?" Virgil blinked in surprise, given what Patton had said about it and all, before just shaking his head. Roman sighed softly before glancing him over again with a slight... look of something Virgil just couldn't place. "Purple looks just as good." Virgil's face flushed lightly as Roman laughed softly, his eyes glimmering just a bit.
"It was a good choice on you." Virgil smiled anxiously as he hugged his arms around his chest making Roman's eyes glimmer more. "Is it your favorite color?" Virgil nodded as Roman took a step closer with that odd look in his eyes. "Interesting. Purple is a nice color, I suppose. It's a very noble color... it is the color of royalty after all." Virgil simply signs 'thank you' with a nod, making Roman's eyes narrow as he still didn't know sign language, before walking past him towards the stairs.
"Forgive me." Virgil froze up like ice at the soft growl that sounded behind him. He shuddered with anxiety, eyes clenching shut in fear of what the prince was going to do, before jumping at the feeling of something around his neck. He blinked as he looked down to see a large ruby necklace with a diamond crown wrapped around the stone. Virgil just stood there confused as the prince brushed his hands down Virgil's shoulder. The action was far more calming than it should have been, considering who it was doing it. Virgil frowned as he slowly turned around seeing Roman's eyes light up at the sight of the red gem around the human's neck. "I just could not go without seeing you in red again." Virgil's blush only grew as Roman stared at the necklace with an actual smile. Virgil hesitated a bit giving the other a confused look as he gestured towards the necklace and Roman just chuckled before walking away. "Keep it... It's yours."
