the tape ch 4

Lily's POV:

I am hoping today we finally open the box that Syphus left us. I have been so anxious about it. I don't like not knowing whats inside but it was a team decision to wait and open it because it was a long day. So hopefully today is the day.

we are all gathered in the kitchen right now. I'm kind of in my own little world as they are start the video. I'm so in my head about what could be in this box that I don't really know whats going on. when I zone back in all I hear is Matt saying,

"me and woods are going to do a candy review.' I look up and see matt sitting next to woods while woods is looking at him confused.

"as much as I would love that, I know that would never ever happen if there wasn't a box to open..'' woods responds

"does matt only bond with you when he's avoiding something?" sam asked as we all laugh 

'it seems to be that way..' wood responds laughing with his head in his hands.

"well im curious.' I decide to finally chime in.

' we just don't know what else its gonna open up to.' woods adds on.

" yeah you just never know where it's going to go and I don't like not knowing, I like knowing. you get it?' matt asked

I nod my had but sam actually agrees verbally mentioning she's just a little hesitant about the whole thing. I mean you can't blame her so much crazy stuff has happened since they found the first 863 key I feel like anyone in their right mind would be hesitant. 

I kinda zoned out in my own little world again trying to piece everything in my mind. There is so much happening around me and so much going through my brain right now I start to get over stimulated. I walk off to the armory to try and get a minute to myself. Behind the scenes I have been trying to piece all the evidence these guys got, to try and figure how and why we are truly all connected to this. nothing is connecting anywhere and it is starting to stress me out. why did I get into this if I didn't even work there in the first place?

I hear the team start to head upstairs im assuming to grab the box out of the vault to open it. I hear matt mention us all dropping this and moving to South Dakota. I giggle to myself while walking upstairs.

'Ugh noooo.' I hear sam whine " well maybe' she continues after some thought

"have you been to South Dakota?'  matt asked sam then proceeds to get sassy and say "sweetheart south Dakotas beautiful.' we all laugh at that. they start talking about moving out of LA  but Texas is a no go. its too hot. I absolutely agree with Matt. I used to live in the south I absolutely hate the heat.

we all walk into the vault matt sits down and looks at his watch.

"Im a horrible father.' he says out of no where.

"wait what?' I asked so lost.

"luna has cavities.' Matt continues " im a horrible father" he repeats 

" do you want me to agree with you?' woods looks at him while laughing

"SAY IT!' matt yells at wood then laughs as we all start to laugh with.

matt picks up the box and looks like he's about to open it

"wait are we ready?" sam ask.

" I think I've made enough jokes that I am now." matt replied. then goes on this tangent about Tanner's mom, you know the whole joke he likes tanner's mom.

"ready?" sam and matt ask at the same time

"im gonna open it and not look so you guys look first." matt tells us then immediately opens it.

"Shut up." sam says "it's a car key.' 

'wait what is it?' woods and matt ask

"It's a freaking car key.' I tell them

Matt looks at it closer realizing it's the mountaineer key. most likely to ours but there could be multiple mountaineers and this is just Syphus showing us that. I don't know but the undercover officer hinted that there could be more.

We decided that we were gonna test out the key to the car. I was the first one out so I start heading down the stairs. I didnt realize they had stop to lock up the safe so I was already at the bottom waiting on them so we could head over to the car. I heard them laughing about something then finally started down the stairs.

As we head out the door I start getting a call from a random number. now normally I wouldn't pay no attention to it but im expecting a call from someone local so since it was a local number I decided to answer anyways.

"hey guys im gonna take this call I will meet you over there." I told them.

"alright, we will be in red warehouse.' woods tells me. I nod then pick up the call.

"hello.' I answer kinda hesitantly. there was a long pause.

"hel-' i start again but get caught off the a scratchy sounding voice.

"make sure they get the tape." was all that was said before the phone hangs up. 

im so confused. my mind is everywhere right now. one who was that? two how did they get my number? three what tape? four is it connected to all this? five why did they call me and not someone else on the team? im so lost in my thoughts next thing I know I have been standing there for 5 minutes. the guys are already heading back to blue. 

"hey you okay?' matt asked me as they reached over to blue base.

"uh yeah just got a really strange call. sorry I didn't make it over. did the key work?' I asked a little dazed

" yeah it did but it feels like we are missing something. we decided it would be best to look back at the messages to see if something was in that." matt responds looking at  me with concern. I just nod my head and follow inside.

Maybe what the person just said will spark something in my mind after we read the messages over again.

chapter 4 is done, is shorter but im starting to add my own little twist to the plot 

these next few chapters will be following the video "a stalker left me a hidden package"
