A curse to know myself

Her tears were lighter fluid,
and her cheeks sparked flames.
Thinking back on it now,
how quickly she could change.

Eyes locked on her mirror,
the kindness she saw.
She couldn't see the truth,
deception held her visons all.

A smack on the face,
when he said he was through.
"Was it something I said?
Is there anything I can do?"

Resentment she felt,
desired to be aimed at him.
Though she found he was right,
the problem came from within.

The lights then got brighter,
and she fell to her knees.
She wanted to see him happy,
so she withheld all her pleas.

She watched him walk away,
into someone else's arms.
She wished that he would stay,
but she couldn't tame her storm.
