VANCE HOPPER
October 13th 1978
Kate and I walk out of Grab N Go laughing about how bad she was at playing pinball.
"Hey, I had fun hanging out with you," I tell her, smiling. "I had fun too, we should do this more often." she says smiling.
"Yeah we should" I smiled at the short girl.
"Jesus, you're so short!" I say, she laughs "Wow I never noticed!" she says sarcastically, i laugh."Hey, I got something for you" She says, "What?" I am confused. She sticks her hand in her pocket and takes out a box of cigarettes.
"You said the brand wasn't bad so..." she hands me the box, "Wait you actually got me this?" I ask.
"Stole" she says, I smirk at the malicious act she pulled. "Hm, I'll allow it" I smile, "Thank you" I say.
"You're not how I thought you would be" she says looking up at me "How so?" I ask, "They all said you were rude and all, I also never expected for you to let me touch that pinball machine, ever" she says.
"I only let certain people use that machine" I say winking at her and she laughs at my gesture.
She looks at the sunset, the warm light shining in her dark eyes making it look like a pot of caramel, her dark hair glowing with highlights from the sun, her sun kissed skin and freckles spread along her sunkissed path, her plump lips, her nose. She's beautiful.
Her gaze switches to me, "What wrong?" she asks me "Nothing is wrong" I say. She looks back at the sunset, "The sky is so pretty" she says, "Yeah" I say attempting to walk a bit closer to her.
Our arms brush against each other, I blush and look down at her, she was already looking at me which made me blush more and I looked away.
As we walk in silence I finally build up the courage to try and hold her hand.
I move my hand closer to hers, our fingers now brushing against each other, I hold her hand praying she doesn't pull away.
From the corner of my eyes I see her look down at our hands and smile.
We get closer to her house and I walk her to her doorstep. "I'll see you at school tomorrow?" I ask "Yeah, thanks for hanging out, I had a lot of fun" she says smiling.
Just do it Vance! Do it!
I sigh before taking a step and kiss her on the cheek, she goes bright red and tries to hide it.
I chuckle at her reaction, "Bye Kate" I say before walking back to my house.

On my way home I couldn't stop thinking about Kate. Jesus christ I've only known her for a few hours but fuck.
She's amazing, she's nice, she's feisty, she's pretty and thoughtful.

I climb into my bedroom, I freeze in place when I see my mom in the chair next to my desk watching me climb in.
"Where the hell were you!" she yells, I couldn't tell if she was pissed, concerned or both.
"Is he finally back?!" my dad yells from the kitchen and runs into my room and stands by my mom.
"Where were you!?" He yells. "It's not like you care where I am!" I yell back at my parents. "For fucks sake where were you?" my mom asks.
"I was with a friend." I told them, "Where! Not who!" my dad yells "Grab N Go" I say.
"Who is this friend of yours?" My mom asks in disbelief, "She's new around here" I tell her, "She?" my dad says.
"Fucking hell! She isn't your friend, are you fucking trying to get someone pregnant! We can't fucking afford that you piece of shit!" My dad yells.
