CHAPTER 7

KATE BROWN

I was in the middle of talking with Billy at the bike racks, we were talking about how I should maybe register to actually be a paperboy but since it's called paperboy for a reason I'd probably never get the job.

As we were talking we got interrupted by Jerry, I knew him as Vances friend, well kinda friends because Vance doesn't really have friends.

"Hey Kate Brown can I talk to you?" he asks me, "Sure Jerry...unknown last name" I laugh softly, "What's up with you and Vance" Jerry says pretty bluntly.

I look at Billy for a split second before I get asked another question, "Are you and Billy dating?" great another very stupid question.

Billy starts laughing, "We would never get together" Billy says laughing to Jerry, "Vance and I are...okay?" i said hesitantly, "But yeah Billy and I aren't dating" I chuckled.

"Okay...so what's up with you and Vance then?" Jerry asks, "Why whos asking?" I asked him, "N-nobody... I am" he stammers, "I don't know, we haven't really talked much recently" i said, "I'm gonna head over there" Billy says pointing to the soccer boys, "Okay see ya" I said.

"Anyways, you and vance" jerry says, "yeah...we kinda had a fight a few weeks ago," i said a bit hesitant, "about what" he asks, "About billy, it was really stupid i don't know why he was super mad but its whatever, i guess" I explained.

"So are you two still together" Jerry gives me a very curious look, "i think so" i told him, "okay i'll see you around" jerry says backing up slowly, i frown slightly "okay bye" i said walking away.

I walk to class by myself replaying my conversation with Jerry about Vance. Speaking of the devil Vance was standing by my locker talking to Robin, I walked up towards them.

"Hey guys" I greeted, vance looked at me with furrowed eyebrows and robin spoke up, "I'm gonna let you two be..." he slowly walked away, "Hey..."i said looking up at vance, "Hi" he says dryly, "how have you been?" i asked,

"Good, you?" again he replies dryly, "good...listen im sorry abou-" i tried talking but quickly got interrupted, "No, im sorry, i let my anger get the best out of me, you wanna hang out tonight?" he says.

I smile softly, "yeah, i'd love that", Vance looks down at me, "Great, i'll see you at the back door?" he says, "Yeah, see you later" i kissed him on the cheek.

5 more minutes until my last class ends.

4 more minutes until class ends.

3 more minutes.

2 more minutes.

1 more minute....

I got out of my chair and ran out to my locker, got my bag and ran to the back doors of the school. I see Vance walking his way to the back to meet up, his eyes lighten up once he sees me, he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey" he smiles looking down at me, "Hi, where are we going?" I asked, "I was thinking of driving in, we could watch grease, you've been waiting for it to come out for a while now." he says.

"Are you sure? We don't have to watch that if you don't want to, we could watch Jaws 2 if you want, i don't mind" i said knowing he's not really the rom com musical type, "Lets watch Grease, we can watch Jaws 2 another time," he explains while walking. I smile, "Okay"

📞 ~ 📞 ~ 📞

We both went home really quick to drop off our things from school and started to walk to the movie theater closer downtown.

Vance went up to the person giving out the tickets and snacks, "Vance i can buy my own ticket you don't need to pay for me," I told him, "Its fine, im paying" he looks at me, "Fine then i'm paying for snacks" i said making him roll his eyes, "Next time you won't spend a cent" he says making me chuckle softly.

After we bought the tickets and snacks, we made our way to the room to watch the movie.

About an hour into the movie it gets to the Carnival Scene where it starts playing You're the one that I want. Vance looks at me, "You know, that's how I feel about you," he says, "What do you mean?" I asked him confused, "You're the one that I want," he said in my ear, making me blush.

I look at him and slowly lean in, he slowly does the same, and finally the gap between us closes, our lips connecting. I knew he was the one that i want.
