Dean didn't believe his ears, and he yelled again. "Gabriel, this isn't funny. You know Sam is dead."
"Who said I was dead." The voice chuckled.
"S-Sammy???" He voice croaked. He let go of Castiel's hand, rushed to the door, and opened it.
It was Sammy. He couldn't believe it but there he was. His little brother is back alive. Alive, and there are no cuts and bruises he had before.
Dean couldn't speak. He tried to, but nothing could come out. All he could do was hug Sam and cry.
"Dean, what's wrong?" Sam asked his brother. He didn't understand. He's only been for a few days. "I was only gone for a few days?"
A few days?!? Dean thought and then let go of Sam. "A few days?! You were gone for months, Sam! I watched you die. How the hell are you here. Does Gabriel or Cas have something to do with this?!?" Dean yelled at his brother.
Sam gave a confused, sad look. "What do you mean?"
Dean walked out of the room and rushed to Gabriel. He grabbed his shirt and banged him against a wall. "What the hell, Gabriel?! What did you do to Sam?!"
"Dean, j-just listen." Gabriel said softly. He couldn't blame Dean, though. His brother came back without any memory of what happened. Dean let go of Gabriel but still had his hands clenched into fists.
"We- we had too. He... he made a deal, Dean. It was the only way for Sam to come back...."
"What do you mean by we?"
"Look, don't get mad -"
"Oh, you bet I'll get mad. I want to know what the hell is going on. How does my brother have no memory of what happened?!" Dean interrupted Gabriel. He was far beyond mad at this point.
"Cas-"
Dean immediately stormed off to where Cas was.
"CASTIEL!" Dean screamed.
He had completely forgotten Cas was asleep and barged in.
Cas was startled and awoke. No one could sleep through that scream.
"What -"
"Don't you what me. The f**k did you do?!"
Cas fell silent. He garaged a piece of paper and a pencil and wrote so Dean didn't have to hear his voice.
I had to. It was the only way. In exchange for my grace, your brother returns. The reason why he thinks he got back from a hunt is that he didn't have to bear that pain or memory of dying right in front of you.
You must think I am useless without my angelic powers now.
He handed Dean the paper, and Dean decided to give him a chance to explain. Dean was surprised by Cas' words. He was still pissed at him, but as soon as he saw Cas start to cry, he walked over to him.
"Cas?" Dean asked the now ex-angel. He put his hand in his shoulder for comfort.
Cas started to tear again. He spoke so he didn't have to write out everything. "I thought getting rid of that pain would be best for him." Cas cried and laid his head on Dean's shoulder.
"Oh, angel."
"Dean, I just - I know I should've told you first. I'm sorry that i can't take care of myself any-m-more. "
"I don't care that you're not an angel anymore. That doesn't mean that you're not one to me." Dean said kindly. He cupped his hands to Castiel's face.
"you- , you mean it..."
He smiled, and he pressed his lips onto Castiel's. Cas melted into the kiss and slid his hands onto Dean's hips.
"So get this.." Sam said as he came into the room.
