The following morning, Dean is woken up from a strange cough.

"Dean, are you awake?" Cas asked as he knocked on the door.

I dont want to get up! Dean thought. He gets up and walks over to the door and opens it. "Can I help you?" Dean says half asleep while in only his shorts.

"Get dressed and come down to the kitchen. We need to talk about something, Dean. It is important that you remember it." Cas said and walked to the kitchen.

"Alright," Dean said. What do I need to remember? Dean thought.

Dean gets dressed and walks to the kitchen. He goes to the fridge and grabs a beer.

"What do you want to talk about, Cas?"

Cas turned to Dean with a sadden face. "Do you remember what day this is?"

"No," Dean said with a raised eyebrow. "What's today?"

"It is your birthday, Dean." Cas said

"Is it?" Dean questions. He looks at my watch, then looks at the beer pile on the table and squints his eyes. He curses under his breath. "I have issues."

Cas took a deep breath, trying to keep the disappointment out of his voice. "It is, yes." His eyes narrowed slightly. "You... drank all of those?"

"I think so. I do believe I have a hangover, though. My head is banging like crazy right now." Dean said.

"Where's Sam?" Dean said and then looked at his watch. "Is he out or something?"

At Dean's words, Castiel's face fell. He looked to the floor momentarily before looking back up at Dean. Cas is now quiet.

"Where is Sam, Cas?" Dean said with fear in his eyes.

"Sam... Sam is in heaven, Dean. It's been a year. You need to let go."

"What......?"

"He was killed last year by lucifer. This is your first birthday without him."

Dean sighs. "Right. Let's not do this right now, Cas." He finishes his beer really quick and makes Cas seem worried.

"Dean? You must let go. Sam would want you to let go. Don't remember his death or the bad. Remember the good times you had with him."

Dean looks at Cas with sadness in his eyes. "You are not meant to outlive your younger brother, okay! Its-." Dean stops his sentence. He starts to tear up. Cas sees this and wraps one of his wings around Dean. Cas took a deep breath before thinking of what to say.

"I... I would like to take you somewhere today to help you remember something Sam wanted. Would that be alright?"

"Okay..." Dean replies as he wipes his tears. Cas takes himself and Dean to the car and goes to their destination.
