"The hell??" He spoke out of frustration.
"Why does she keep losing conscious all the time. That's absurd. First she gets unconscious and then she wakes up after hours. Am I her slave or something!" He just let her be and went back to his bed.
He woke up in the morning only to see a face so close to his.
"Ahhh!" He immediately sat up.
"Are you serious I almost got a heart attack because of the stupid thing you just did!" He spoke while putting a hand on his heart.
"Um...that's because I thought you were unconscious." She spoke slowly.
"The audacity. Its you who is habitual of fainting every now and then and you are taunting me?" He kept speaking all the frustration of the previous day.
"I am not taunting you I am being serious." She spoke in an extremely low voice again.
"It's okay. What....wait a moment you got your voice back. That's awesome." He got happy after so long.
"But I can't speak much." She spoke slowly again.
"Only if we had a bit of honey." He sighed.
"I do !" She spoke.
"Then take it madam. It will help you to get your voice sooner!" He spoke thinking that she is extremely stupid.
She took a little amount of honey.
And after sometime ate the fruits he brought for her the day earlier.
"I know they aren't in the best form now but they are edible hope that helps." He spoke looking outside of the window that only showed the ruins.
"Thanks." She spoke after eating that.
"Try not to speak for a while this way you will get your voice sooner." He spoke still giving her his back.
She took out the wipes from her bagpack and started to wipe her face and removing the blood stains.
When he heart the sound of a wrapper he turned around to see her wiping her face with wipes. He came forward.
"No need for them. I don't know how but water is still running in these pipes. You can wash your face there." He spoke pointing towards a direction.
She nodded her head in a thank you way and went towards the sink to wash her face.
After washing her face. She saw a cupboard near by she opened it and saw loads of clothes in it. They were a little bigger than what was her actual size but it was okay. She can manage. She took out one of the pair of pants and a long sweater. She took out her clothes in the toilet and got changed into the clothes she decided to wear earlier.
The blood in her hair was clogged.
She started to wash her hair to remove that stink from her.
She came out of the toilet after half an hour.
"You decided to take a bath ?!" He asked a bit shocked.
She simply showed him the blood on her previous clothes and he got the hint.
"Why are you standing here?" She asked in sign language.
"Nothing just thinking about the people who used to live here. That must be a great time for them. Wonder what happened to them making them leave their houses all of the sudden." He sighed.
"Now what?" She asked in sign language.
"Nothing. Right now you are too weak to encounter any danger. I know we are in a constant danger, Still! First you need to get you energy." He spoke looking at her seriously.
"Our opponents aren't humans. Do you understand?" He explained further.
She simply nodded and sat down quietly.
"It's time to bring the food. I will head out now. Remember don't open the door for anyone. I gave keys. Even if someone comes don't speak and hide. You must behave like a mummy okay?" He orders her strictly before heading out and closing the door properly.
"Oh shoot I forgot the keys. Hey lady just throw me the keys from window." He spoke from outside.
She gulped hardly and just paused all if her movements. She seemed to be a statue.
"Oh come on I told you not to open the door but how can I come in if you don't throw the keys. Come on slow poke get up from the bed." He was agitated now.
"I said GET UP YOU ANNOYING LADYYY!!!" An inhumane voice vane from outside.
Now she was sure it was something else. Her heart started to thump in her chest. Her legs started to shiver badly.
She immediately put both of her hands on her knees to stop all of that but her knees wouldn't stop shaking at any cost.
Tears start to accumulate in her eyes. Suddenly the lock opened and there he was standing in front of her with a dirty bag pack on his shoulders.
"Hey hey what's wrong?!" She asked her and locked the door.
"Are your legs hurting?" He asked softly.
She shook her head and pointed at the window.
He immediately got the hint and handed her some water to drink.
"Relax it's okay I am here no body would touch you." He pat her head a little to calm her down. She nodded and drank the water.
"Here eat this." He gave her the fruits he found.
"There aren't many fruits left we need to find an escape soon." He said and sat on his bed and started his meal.
He looked at her after taking a bite.
"Seriously what is wrong? You are still shivering." He asked chewing.
That was it she started eating.
"It will be okay. Don't be scared. We will be safe. Just stay close to me I have been here longer than you I know some cheat codes to protect myself from these creatures whatever they are." He wasn't done talking when they heard *tuk tuk tuk* it was like someone knocking at a wooden box with their nails.
He immediately placed a finger on his lips to give her the hint of not making any noise.
She nodded a little.
He walked very slowly barely making any noise. And........
"Ahhhh!!!!"extremely scared scream was heard from the room he entered moments ago.
Her heart sank.
"HEY !!! MUTE LADY SAVE ME FROM THIS MONSTER!!!!" He yelled.
"Come here please."he was almost crying.
She stood up slowly and walked towards his direction to see him standing on a chair weeping.
She knocked the door to tell him about her arrival.
He looked at her and desperately pointed at a direction.
She saw a little mouse running there. She looked at him with glare. She almost got a heart attack. She slowly went near the mouse and held its tail between her fingers. She pulled it infront of his face who started to scream like he is in an operation theater.
She kept laughing and pointing mouse infront of his face.
"Nooooo!!! Go back to unconscious you are vicious." He kept screaming his lungs out. She finally opened the window and let it escape from there. She went to wash her hands. She came back after a minute to see him still standing in the same position.
She knocked again to get his attention who looked at her sniffing.
She felt pity on him and pat his head just like he did earlier to calm her down. This simple gesture was something that made him tear up.
"I...I am....s...sorry!" She said hesitantly thinking she might over do the joke.
"No it's not because of you. I am crying because it's been so long since someone was there for me. I am stranded here for so long now. It's been ages I have been with a human." He said weeping.
She looked at him sadly. She felt her heart pinch at the sight of him at that moment.
"Thank you!" He simply replied and left the scene. She kept looking at the way he went trying to comprehend the situation he was in. He was helping her a lot without any privilege of his own. She agreed she had a soft corner for that person now. She wiped the lone tear from her cheek and walked out.
It was almost evening when he came back from his food spree. He immediately locked all the doors and lowered the curtains. She tapped his shoulder to ask 'What happened' he gestured her to sit down and whispered silently.
"I felt as if I was being followed. We will get into deep danger if we take even a single wrong step today. Stay calm and alert. It's better if we don't sleep and keep awake tonight." He completed his sentence and gave her what he brought for her to eat. She looked at the fruit and put it beside her. Who can get hungry after knowing that someone out there is trying to hunt them. She tried to shrugg off these thoughts from her mind. And she realized that he was making sure she takes three meals. Even though the food is less and the don't know when are they getting out. He was really something ,a good person. She was still in her thoughts when they heard thunders. So now it was going to rain. Wasn't that already enough whatever happened today. She thought and getting sick of all this situation closed her eyes to get a little rest.
