DEVONS POV -

We were sitting in our dorm, facing each other.

Jake : Dev, we gotta have a serious conversation.

Devon : About? Are you breaking up with me?!

Jake : What no? Never!

Devon : Then why do you have that look in your eyes? Like you're never gonna see me again.

Jake : Well... my dad died.

Devon : Are you okay?!

Jake : that was the good news. The bad news is... I'm never gonna see you again.

Devon : What are you talking about?

Jake : My aunt and uncle are gonna pick me up, tomorrow at 6 P.M.

My voice was breaking and tears were already streaming down my cheeks.

Devon : So this is goodbye?

Jake was crying too.

Jake : Not yet. But! The headmaster said we could exchange phone numbers! We could have a long-distance relationship or I could come and visit you.

Devon : I don't wanna say goodbye!

I was full-fletching breaking down in his arms.

Jake : Shhh. It's gonna be okay. Shhhh.

Devon : No it's not! What if I never see you again?!

Jake had just broken the news to Lexy, Nadine and Oliver.

Jake was crying. I was crying. Lexy was crying. Nadine was crying. Oliver looked like he was trying his hardest not to cry.

His voice was breaking as he mustered out a joke.

Oliver : Well will your fit cousin at least be there?

We all laughed through our tears that eventually got to Oliver too.

Jake : you should come visit sometime.

Me and Jake were back in soon to be my dorm. We were cuddling in my bed.

I was playing with his hair.

Jake : You know, it's funny. We used to say that we wished I never came here. Now I don't want to leave.

Devon : Is there anything you regret?

Jake : We should have spent less time fighting.

Devon : I know. I'm glad that I met you though. I'll never forget you.
