It was 7:56 am. You were practically sprinting to work. The rain was pouring down on you. Before you left you small cozy apartment, you thought: 'I don't need an umbrella! If I run to work I'll be so fast that I'll be somewhat dry once I get there!' You were horribly mistaken. You were soaking wet and you still had a four minute run ahead of you and your shift started at eight sharp.

After what felt like an eternity, you could make out the sign of the cafe. You were relieved to check your phone and see it was 7:58. Damn. Maybe knowing that you're gonna be late just makes you run faster. You satchel that you carried your stuff in was soaking, it was times like these that you're grateful you spent extra money for the waterproof version. The clock struck exactly eight when you barged in through the back door. You practically threw your satchel onto the bag hooks and ran over to the check in paper. You hurriedly scribbled your first and last name and grabbed your uniform from your satchel.

In under 2 minutes, you had your uniform on and your soaked clothes on the closed toilet lid. You ran out of the bathroom, leaving your regular clothes there so they could dry off hopefully before the end of the day. Running through the small kitchen, you headed to the doors that lead to "dining" area.

"Hey (Y/N)!"

"Good morning (Y/N)!"

The two bakers greeted. Micheal and Leo were brothers who both worked at the cafe. They enjoyed baking and making different coffees and stuff. You and the brothers had a good relationship, but never really talked besides you telling them the orders. You have a small wave before pushing the doors open to the small shop.

Many customers sat at tables, either waiting for their orders or already eating/drinking. Your gaze averted to Sunny who was taking orders from the customers. She gave you a death glare, probably because many customers hadn't received their food. You grabbed plates with pastries and baked goods along with coffees. You started waiting customers left and right. By the time it was 9 PM, not many people were there. It was already dark outside.

The cafe was closing for the weekend, so you went to go change into your regular clothes again. Thankfully they were dry. Sunny had left already and so did Micheal and Leo. You had to lock up the place. After you did, you grabbed your satchel and left through the back door.

Thankfully it wasn't raining, but it was still cloudy so you hurried.

"Gah...shit..."

You felt a mix of annoyance and anger. You had just stepped in a big puddle of water and it seeped through your shoes, now your socks were wet. Gross. You kept walking, thinking that the night couldn't be any worse. Just then, a bus came speeding past you, the tires splashing water all over you.

"FUCKING SHIT!"

You screamed as loud as you could, wasn't like anyone could hear you.

"Keep it down."

A male voice spoke. He sounded tired and...sassy? The voice startled you since you thought you were the only one out at this hour. You look over to where the voice came from. A young man leaned against a building, smoking a cigarette. He was tall and lengthy.

Being already worked up, you snapped at the guy.

"Fuck off! And stop smoking, gonna die at age 30 at this point."

The man chuckled before throwing the cigarette on the floor.

"I'm done, happy now doll face?"

The nickname he gave you made you more angry but somehow you still got flustered.

"Yes. Yes I am!" You yelled at him.

He chuckled again.

"Need a ride? Or ya wanna keep walking home? I'm just gonna warn ya, weather ain't looking good."

"The weather is looking great! Just FYI!"

You turned around and as if on cue, rain started pouring out of literally thin air. The brunette pulled out a small umbrella, looking at you with a smug smirk.

"Fine...a ride would be good..."

"What's the magic word?"

"Please?"

"I woulda been fine with 'Abracadabra' but that works too."

The brown haired grabbed your arm and pulled you under the umbrella with him. You both walked through the rain until the guy stopped in front of a car. It was gray and looked fairly new. He opened the passenger door to the car for you.

"Your royal highness." He said, as you cringed a little. Obviously he meant it as a joke.

You sat down and he went to the other side to start driving. You looked out the window at the pouring rain. Then you opened your satchel and took out your phone. 9:42 PM. It hadn't been that long. It hit you when you realized the guy wasn't driving to your apartments. It also hit you that you didn't even tell him where you lived.

"Oh hell nah...let me out of this fucking car!"

The brunette looked at you.

"I'm not kidnapping you if that's what you're thinking, though it was quite stupid of you for getting into some strangers car without even knowing their name."
...
"What's your name then?"

"Jax."

You thought for a second, pondering if you should give him a fake or real name.

"I'm-"

"(Y/N). I know I know. It says it on you satchel."

You forgot you got your name embroidered to the side of it.

"Wait so if we're not going to my apartment...where are we going?"

Jax paused for a second before responding.

"Somewhere fun because clearly all you have been is a stick in the mud."

You sank into the leather seat. You stared out the window, the moon somewhat peaking out of the gray clouds. Jax drove into a parking lot. As far as you could see, it was a bar/club. And it wasn't like one of those cheap, rundown bars. It looked expensive.

"It's hard to believe you can pay for this. And I sure as hell can't pay either."

"Don't worry doll face, I can pay. For you and for me."

Jax put the car in park, then looked at you. His eyes looked you up and down, like he was judging you.

"Your clothes are...ugly. I'm gonna be honest. Do you have any nicer clothes?"

You though for a second, then remember your friend had made you carry some fancy outfit in your satchel, and you forgot to give them it back.

"Um..yeah?"

"Great, put it on."

"What?"
