America Part 2

When you were a kid, your favorite super hero was Spiderman. You had posters of him up on your bedroom wall, you had action figures and dolls of him, you had all the movies on disc, and you had watched very single movie and show about him or anything to do with him.

Your most prized fan-piece you had created was your stickers. You had a giant poster board filled with stickers of Spiderman and only Spiderman. It was still up on your bedroom wall too. There was no way you were going to throw out something had taken six years to fill up. Besides, it matched the paint in your house.

When you were a teen, you had seen how the world didn't truly have any heroes in it. Your parents argued to the point that one day your dear old dad whacked your mom over the head and knocked her out. You had been the one to call the police and the ambulance. After that, your parents divorced and your dad was not allowed to go within 40 meters of you or your mother.

You didn't think your mother even knew that.

After the divorce, you two had moved in with your mom's sister, your Aunty Carrie. Aunty Carrie became the mom you never had as your mom slowly became an alcoholic. She had been in and out of rehab, but her problems were never solved. She worked only for money to drink. It was amazing that she was able to keep her current job. Although, she did work for your grandpa after all.

You had sworn to never follow her path and you were currently going to college with no real goal in mind. You were sort of just winging it until you made it.

As an adult, you gave up on the idea of all heroes.

Politicians could never be a hero, they started wars and left messes. Your parents were not heroes. Singers were not heroes. No one was a hero.

There were good people, like those who ran into burning buildings to save people. Like those who voulenteered to serve the homeless and at animal shelters.

There were people who only did their jobs like police officers, nurses, firefighters, and soldiers.

Although, you were giving up on the the police now too. If they really were doing their job, you would not be in the predicament that you were in right now. Hopefully the person on the other side of the door was going to give you a quick and painless death.

You doubted it though. Not many people who stand up to gangs have a peaceful death. They are used to teach the public a lesson. Well, at least you'd have the career of being a teacher before your body rotted away.

Your head snapped up as the door started to open and a man stepped in the room with a big grin on his face.

"The hero has arrived!" He exclaimed and casually walked over to you as if you had been best buds in high school.

You were pretty certain this man had not been in high school at the same time as you though. Actually, you knew he hadn't even gone to high school.

Standing before you was Mr. America, AKA Alfred Jones...your nation. You were speechless. No really, the pain in your head and your probable concussion made it really hard for you to think of words to say.

"Hello there." You finally say.

And just like that (finger snap) he was kneeling down next you with concern plastered across his face.

"Holy shit dude! You're my soulmate!" He grins and pulls you to your feet.

He literally picks you up and spins you around in the air like something out of a hallmark movie. You hated to be the one to ruin the moment, but the sudden movement made you feel sick to your stomach and the moment he set you down, you doubled over with one hand covering your mouth and your other arm wrapped around your stomach.

"Shit! You hair is full of blood!" He freaks and rubs your back. His hand reaches up to your head and he pulls it away covered in dried flakes of blood. "At least it's dried."

"Your America." You say and straighten up, looking up at his face.

"Yeah, and you are..." He scrunches up his face as he thinks for a moment. "You are Y/N L/N, one of my citizens. You've been missing for a few days!"

He places his hands on your shoulders with a smile on his face. The sound of gunfire causes you to both look back at the door.

"Oh yeah! I need to get you out of here!" He says and picks you up.

"H-hey, wait a minute, what's going on?" You ask and wrap your arms around his neck.

"Well, the police asked some questions after you went missing and tracked you down here. These guys are drug dealers and it is not cool at all. So I decided to help them out and then I found you, my soulmate!"

The grin on his face makes you think dork, but an adorable one. He smells like home, whatever that smells like. It's probably because he is your country. His eyes are also very sparkly and have a look of youth and energy in them. Your Aunty had always said that eyes were the window into the soul. In the case of Mr. America, that was very much true.

"My soulmate is Mr. America." You whisper out loud to yourself.

"No need for formalities dude! You can call me Alfred." He smiles at you.

You blush when you realize that you had said that out loud. Then you let out a gasp when bullets fly over your heads followed by shouts. Mr. Amer-No. Alfred stops in his tracks and you look up to see what it is.

Three of the gang members are standing before you with guns in their hands and grins on their faces.

"Aww, ain't this heroic. Mr. America saving one of his people from the bad wolves." One of them laughs.

The one on his right stares at them both and then points at Alfred's left wrist. "Not just any kind of person...that lady is his soulmate."

All attention snaps to Alfred's left wrist. Your writing in F/C (Favorite colour) is on it with your first words said to him.

The three thugs raise their guns and point them at you two. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." Alfred laughs. "You are also my people and I don't want anyone to get hurt."

"Oh shut it." The third thug says.

Alfred laughs and sets you down on the ground. With amazing speed, he quickly punches the leader of the three and sends him flying backwards into the wall. While the other two thugs are distracted, he does the same to them.

He then scoops you back up and rushes out of the building with you in his arms.
