Tam field stabilized Tay as Joko took care of the tiny officer. A part of his mind wondered if he would be able to recruit her from the Police, she was wasted as an officer. The morse code trick was brilliant! Even if the new junior was clueless, Joko had known instantly.

Surveying the apartment, Tam's eagle eyes swept the crime scene and sighed, as he dropped to his knees and scooped up the officer's knife under the bed, carefully pocketing it, before spying the open antique phone, now with a dead battery. He also carefully scooped that out and bagged it.

There was no fucking way in hell this case was being swept under, that perp was going to jail this time. Tam bent down and took swabs of all the blood on scene and then heard major yelling from outside of the condo. "What is it?" He asked the junior guarding the door.

"Cops." Was the brief reply. "You said..."

"Yeah." Tam nodded, a smirk on his face. "They can have the place now. I've got all the important evidence, properly bagged and marked." One more quick look around and he nodded again. "Let's go."

He opened the door, and with no respect, "It's all yours. Have at it." He left without bowing. The Forensics team lead stared and sighed. "Damn that Captain, he's fucked our reputation! Well, let's see if there is anything in there."

Tam laughed, overhearing the comment as he headed for the stairs. He hated elevators with a passion. He pulled out his phone and called out to his team downstairs. "Where the fuck is the ambulance? That boy needs one now!"

"It's here, we're arguing with the police over who is checking the paramedics credentials." The voice sounded tinny. "You remember that ass who took pictures and sold them to the papers?"

"Fuck! Are you saying that those fucking cops don't believe us? Damn it! Hold it, I'm almost there." Tam broke out into a dead run, taking the stairs three at a time. He was barely huffing, despite his age by the time he opened the main doors and saw the Captain of the SWAT Team, and Joko, along with Job and several others in his team, blocking the paramedics from entering.

"Stand down." The authority in his voice was unmistakable, and not only did all of his team fall into parade rest, but so did half of the SWAT Team. The Captain glared but said nothing, waiting for Tam to speak. "It takes only a few seconds to verify they're not media. So why are you not doing it?"

Joko nudged the young female officer, Job and pointed to the one paramedic as Tam spoke. She nodded in return, despite her tiredness, moving silently behind the gurney. Joko gave a small, but noticible head bob to Tam, who moved into the Captain's space. "YOU have internal issues. We have been shot at while here, and you lost a brother, and for what? Because of this incident. Someone either wants it swept under the carpet or everyone dead."

He snorted and poked the Captain in his chest, a prearranged signal for his members to surround the ambulance and the three paramedics. The Captain would either cooperate, or they would do the ID search their way. Either way, Tay would be safely transported. "With or without police help, Captain."

Suddenly, the walkie talkie on the Captain's shoulder hissed and flickered to life. "With, Mr. Tam, with. Give him all possible assistance."

The Captain reached up and pressed the button. "But Sarg, you don't have the authority..."

"I do now. Give him what he needs. Don't let that boy die or the Commander will have our heads. Over and out."

On that note, the badges and the wallets of the driver and the two paramedics were run. The one, had a misdemeanor on record, therefore the medical bad was searched and a camera found. The EMT was arrested. Tam nodded with relief, the matter had been settled in less than six minutes. His field dressings should still keep him stable. The driver, also a fully trained EMT,  was substituted and sent upstairs.
