Jonathyn, a 13-year-old boy, was in a car to heading to a new home. He had been in foster homes for most of his life, so this was nothing new to him. But, something didn't feel right. As he arrived at the home, he got out of the car and was surprised.
The home wasn't a normal home, it was tall and old. It had two doors, one on the side, and one in the front. It had two windows atop the roof, and two windows next to the front door. It had a huge driveway, with a garage door that looked to be about 5 years old. The house was a red brick house, with a black roof. The porch was decent in size, and had a few spots in it that were slowly deteriorating, and there was two rocking chairs on it as well. It had steps up the porch and to the door. As Jonathyn walked in, he noticed a smell. Not a bad one though, a type of smell that would make you hungry. It smelled like fruit punch. Jonathyn wondered was it really was. He was too distracted about the smell, that he didn't even notice how elegant the house was decorated. There was a long red carpet, with two small velvet couches. At the end of the carpet was two tall glass doors. There was a crystal chandelier on the ceiling. The housekeeper walked in and greeted him.
"Hello Jonathyn. I've been expecting you. Let me show you around. Feel free to ask any questions."
Jonathyn followed the lady through the glass doors as they walked into the kitchen. As the doors opened Jonathyn was hit with a strong aroma. Chicken! The lady announced the kitchen. The kitchen was really fancy, with black and white tiles, a nice white fridge, and silver pots and pans hanging. There was even a kitchen island! There more doors, and the lady took him through one on the left side. He was hit with another great smell! This time he couldn't really figure it out. There was a nice couch and rug under it. There was a glass table in front of the couch, and in front of that was a huge TV! Jonathyn was so excited, he could barely hold it in. He had to though, as he wasn't to his room yet. He noticed it was the living room, but the lady announced it as the living room. They went to the next two doors, and there were stairs. The stairs were nicely carpeted white. There was another pair of doors, and they went through there. This was the fanciest bathroom he had ever seen in his life. There was a huge round mirror, and the sing was flat and made of glass! They left and went up the stairs. Another chandelier was hanging off the ceiling. The doors weren't glass, and instead were a dark brown. They went through the first doors, and it was another bathroom, but it looked exactly the same as the downstairs one. The lady then led him to his new parents room. It. was. fancy. Fancier than the whole house! This family was SO rich, and Jonathyn was so excited! The bedroom had a huge TV, and a big velvet bed. The closet was a huge walk in closet. They then left to Jonathyn's room. His room wasn't as fancy as the whole house. It was plain white, with glass doors that led to a porch on the outside of the house. His closet was small, unlike his parent's. He decided to deal with it and put everything away.
"Jonathyn!" He heard from downstairs. "Your new parents are here!" Jonathyn shot down the stairs, excited to meet his parents. When he walked into the front room, he was astonished. His mom was so pretty, with long blond hair down to her waist. She was wearing a long black jacket and a black purse with matching heels. His new father was amazing. He had shoulder length dark hair, and was wearing a nice pair of white jeans and a black shirt. He had a hat on and it read, "The Garden of Time" and it had many flowers on it. That's probably where their money comes from.
"Hello Jonathyn. Nice to meet you." His mother said.
"Hey Johnny boy! How're you, eh?" His father said.
His mother was rather elegant with her words while his father, spoke in a messy southern accent.
"Hi! I'm really excited to meet you guys! Your house is really nice. I love the decoration! I'm hoping my life will be better here than any other house I have lived in." Jonathyn asked. The cleaning lady had a slight concerned look on her face. Him and his new parents talked for a while, and the cleaning lady left.
"Jonathyn, it's time for bed. Go brush your teeth! There's a toothbrush in both the bathrooms waiting for you!" His mother called. He went from the dining table in the living room to the downstairs bathroom and brushed his teeth. As he went up the stairs, he got the shivers. He felt off. Something wasn't right. As he went to his room, he heard his parents door slam shut. He went to his room, and shut the door calmly. He changed into his pajamas, and went out to the porch and looked at the stars for a few minutes. His mom knocked on the door. "Yes? You can come in." Jonathyn answered. His mom came in, and when she saw he was on the porch, she immediately got mad. "What do you think you're doing? That is so unsafe! Stay off that porch!" She pushed Jonathyn over and closed the doors and locked them. "I'm sorry! I didn't know I couldn't go onto it!" Jonathyn cried. His mom yelled at him, "You're letting all the cold air in! You can watch from the safety of your room!" She stormed off, slamming his door behind her. Jonathyn started crying. He was hoping this was just a little outburst, and that it wouldn't happen again.
