Chapter 27 : Validating Vows

Nix's sleep was interrupted by the clumsy footsteps of Cino running anxiously through the trees. He tilted his head and looked towards Cino's direction, asking him what was wrong. Upon hearing that Rhea was sick. He quickly straightened himself and shot to the sky, flying to where Cino said she would be. I really can't take my eyes off of you... The day just started and you already make me worry like this...

Scanning her whereabouts from the sky, Nix arrived at the said place. He saw the familiar petite frame from the back. I asked while searching for any injury.

"Nixxx~ my scales feels itchy..."
She whines in reply.

"Awwwww love... don't cry, I'm here... let me see, maybe it's too dry? Do you want to go for a swim...? I'll take you now."
I coaxed her from crying.

"Yesss~ Take me. I want a good sswim."
She clings to my neck and hisses her answer softly in my ears.

It felt as if a jolt of electricity coursing through my veins. Her soft skin against mine, her sweet enticing scent enveloping my body. Her usually cool body feels warmer. I tried to resist her charm and check up on her scales... they looked fine, just a little dry.

"Love, you're a lot warmer today... Your scales are a bit dry but they're okay. Let's go now. Hold on tight."

"Okay. But why do you sssmell so nice?"

Although the craftsmanship was quite commendable, Nix still loathe this black feathers in contrast to his mate's fair skin. Urged by the deep hatred he quickly replied to her without thinking...

"Yes, take them off. It's ugly. Here, let me help you with the bottom cover too."

"Ahhhhh~ Nix be careful, I scraped my knees... I don't want to hurt it more."

Instantly, I was melted to the coolness of her skin. Seeing her fair body fully exposed, I lost control of myself. I sat and snatched her onto my lap. My wings creating a feathery barrier around us.
