There were a few things in Uri's life that she can remember that left a mark in her memory. For example, when Uri's parents called to say that they loved her and to take care of herself. That it was the last time she would ever hear their voices. That there were no more scoldings, praises, hugs, kisses. No more I love you after today.
They were out drinking with their friends and they took her parents home afterwards. However, the one who was driving on the way home was drunk. Uri's dad protested and told the guy to let him drive, but the guy threw a fit and they started home. The guy refused to look at the road for more than a few seconds and her dad had enough of it. He told him to pull over, but the guy refused. So her dad tried to get the wheel from him and the guy jerked it back a little too hard and they swerved off the road and they hit a tree full on. The driver and passenger died instantly; though, Uri's parents were alive but severely injured.
Someone found the car and took her parents to the hospital's emergency room where the doctors said that they couldn't do anything that would change their outcome. They suggested for them to call loved ones to say goodbye, and they called Uri. They told her everything that happened, telling her to stay where she was, that she wouldn't make it to the hospital in time. Uri was devastated, balling over the phone repeating 'I love you' over and over. They finally said their goodbyes and shortly after the hung up, they died.
Looking back at it now, Uri was still sad, but she was at peace with it now. She had accepted it a long time ago. It still made its mark whether she wanted it to or not. It wasn't noticeable to her but it was there.
Though, what she just heard now, right to her, took a spot alongside the others. "An angel?" Uri asked, eyebrows raised.
"Well, not a full one, but yes." Castiel answered.
"How? How can I be...an angel?"
"Your grace." Castiel simply stated. Uri was getting frustrated at how general he was answering her questions. "Grace?"
"Yes. An angel's grace is pure energy that makes us, well, angels. Without it, we are mortal."
"Oh." This was all so new to Uri, but she took it all in, interested with it. "Is that what the thing that glows blue is whenever I look at your eyes?"
Castiel's face, for the first time that Uri has noticed, showed emotion, and it was pure shock. "You can see my grace?"
"Yeah. It glows a soft blue like your eyes. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen." Uri could've sworn she saw the angel blush. Can angels blush? She asked herself. "That's very kind of you, Uri." He smiled.
"Okay! Enough with the chick flick moments! Why are you so shocked Cas? Can't you see her grace too?" Dean rushed.
Castiel continued, "Normal angels cannot see another angel's grace while it is within them. Only when it is taken out of them is it visible for the eyes."
Uri started to feel a bit anxious. "So first I'm not a human, now I'm not a normal angel?"
"It's complicated and I do not know the answer to your question. I will see to the answer though." Castiel explained calmly. He then looked at something other Uri's shoulder. "You have not fully grown your wings yet." Uri looked over her her shoulder as well and, sure enough, there were two big fluffy gray wings on her back. "Wow." She said, standing up off the couch for the first time since her accident. "When did I get wings?" Looking back to Castiel, who walked towards her.
