The Court never rested. Even when only the nameless and the servants were haunting the large royal room, it seemed alive. Like the residual shadows of its inhabitant were dancing on the walls and the whispers of gossip could be heard through the silence.

But this day among the faceless figure still roaming the place, three influencial members of the Court stood there, sharing a word or two.

« This sure was a surprise, for the Princess to agree on such terms, said the Preceptor, but it stills hold some value and potential profit for the crown.- Indeed. This Merchant, as unsightly and toadying as he is, does bring some great opportunities for the Princess to build her reign upon.

- You loose sight of the true value of this matter, Liege, intervened the Chamberlain. The Princess is not the heart of the Court, the Kingdom should be our first priority. »

« My lord the Chamberlain is right, continued the Preceptor blind to the exchange taking place in front of him, after all without the well being of the people we would be nothing but tyrants and Court would soon turn into a place of flame and blood as we so often see happening... »

A second to catch his breath made him realize how he was the only one disturbing the silence.

« Is everything alright sirs ?- Of course, Preceptor, everything is alright, answered the Chamberlain. I am sure this decision will end up beneficial for the Court and, in term, for the Kingdom. After all the Princess did receive the highest education. Didn't she ? »
