Chapter 1: First Job

Starlet P.O.V.

"Loading, Loading, Loading, Loading, Loa-." What are you you doing." I snap myself out of my trans and look at Sophia. "Sorry I keep on reloading my screen."  "Molly they said they will email you around 2pm." "Yeah and it's 2:10." I put the laptop down and went to the closet.                     

"I'm just really excised to work at store that I really love. And not the store THE store that is in the best -" "biggest mall in America; I know I work there." Sophia said. "But Sophia you don't get it. This mall is where you get scouted for acting, singing, and modeling. That's how mom got discover." I pulled out a magazine that mom was on. "I want to be just like mom. I don't get why you don't want to follow in our mom footsteps." "I'm okay doing with working at the mall at Fun Fast-Food." Before I could say anything I heard a ding from my computer.                                                           

          I lid up. I ran from the closet to the couch; almost knocking over my sister. I look at my computer and saw the email that I was looking for. "I got the job.... I GOT THE JOB!." I was jumping up and down on the couch in excitement. "Girls what's going on?" I saw my mom coming from upstairs. She had a confused look on her face with her arms cross. "Well?" "I got the job. I got the job at Abercrombie's and Fitch." Sophia stopped me. "Abercrombie's and Fitch? Molly I don't think that's a good idea to work there. They had a lot of lawsuit due to discrimination." She looks at me concern. "Yeah but that was in the 2000's this is 2014. Things has change since then. If anything happens to me I'll quit." Sophia sign. "Okay when do you start?" "Tomorrow at 7:30am. Let me pick out my outfit for my first day."

I turn off my alarm and did my usual morning. I got dress and told mom that I was leaving. "Sophia do you want to rid with me?" "No, it wouldn't make any since to go into work early plus I have to finish up my stupid college assignment." She said rolling here eyes. "Well see you later." She wave and I shut the door. I got to my car and headed off the work. As I was driving I was getting nervous but kept reminding myself that in order to get picked as a model I have to get out of my convert zone. Plus this is one of my favorite store how bad could it be?

          I made it to the mall and enter the store. "Excuse me we're not open, can you leave?" The girl said with an attitude. "Oh I'm Molly Hills. I'm the new worker." "Molly." I turn and see a women with short brown hair, properly in her mid 40's in a black business suit. "Welcome." She said hugging me. "Wow and you're here early, amazing. I'm glad I picked you. People should look up to you." She said giving a look to the girl at the registers." She rolled her eyes and kept looking through her phone. "Follow me. My name is Mandy White and I am the CEO wife of Abercrombie and Fitch. Because you have never had a 'real' job you will be working in the back with Alexander. And once you work here for a few months then you can start working in the store. " Alexander chuckle and mumble to himself. "If you have any questions call me." After that she left and it was just Alexander and I.

          "Why did you chuckle?" "Because I've been working here for 7 months and I'm still in the back. Also that girl at the cash register she was here for 3 months." "Well maybe she worked at their jobs before - " "It's because we're not the image that they have an image and we are not one of them. "Wait, what no. Here let me talk to her for you Alexander." "Alex call me Alex." He smile. "Well let me talk to her Alex." I was walking to the door but I heard Molly talking. "Look Rachel you in are the manager. My husband and I can't afford any more lawsuit because of a racial discrimination. It's already bad enough that sale is going down because of incidents from the past. I need you to treat her with kindness and if i get a call or an email because you were treating bad because she black I am going to fire you. Do you understand." "Okay but what if she want to work in the store? Alex asked me last week about it." "I don't know just make up some bullshit about how she's not ready or something." I can't believe this. 

         I quietly went back to Alex and told him everything. "See I told you." I looked down. "I still can't believe this though." I feel so embarrass. "Hey cheer up the good news is that we can listen to music, be on our phones and goof around. Rachel normal doesn't like to come to the back because we both hate each other. As long as we get our work done it would be fun. Now that I have someone with me I don't feel alone." I smiled. "So lets get started. Teach me everything I need to know."
