Buck was smiling when he unlocked the door. He was still smiling when Judd entered and locked the door again. He continued to smile when Judd's large hands gathered him close and held on tight.
"I told you not to lock the door, tiny. Why did ya lock the door? I was freakin' out!" Judd's hands reflexively tightened their grip on him, one gathering a handful of Buck's hair, the other squeezing his waist. Buck felt his smile becoming more real with every second, that was the physical affection that he craved, the kind that made him feel trapped and unable to escape but also made him feel safe enough to not want to escape.
"I needed a moment, but I didn't want you to leave." Buck whispered, blushing at the honesty of his own answer.
"Tiny," Judd stepped away. He lowered the lid of the toilet and sat on it, elbows resting on parted knees, hands fisted as they hung between his knees. His head dipped as he took a deep breath, then he looked up and motioned for Buck to move closer, hands open and arms up as if he wanted a hug. "Come here." Buck looked down and shuffled forward, left leg protesting with every step, then Judd's hands were on his hips, helping Buck to sit down on his lap.
"Um," Buck's back stiffened. He was deeply concerned that he was too heavy to sit like this. His weight wasn't something he was concerned with, at all, Buck knew he was underweight, but the combined weight of two men who were above average height must have been pretty tough for a toilet lid to take.
"Sh, tiny," Judd's hand smoothed up Buck's back, sliding around until it was firmly around his throat but not gripping it. His hand rested heavily on Buck's adams apple, and his pinky rested alone in the dip of Buck's throat. "Relax, okay?"
"O-okay," Buck blushed, he shuffled on Judd's lap, leaning into the older man and tucking himself under his chin. "This," he cleared his throat. "This is nice, for me. Thanks."
"Well, like I told you, you are just a tiny little thing compared to me. Look," Buck watched as Judd picked up one of his hands, the flat of their palms lay against each other, Buck's looking like a child's compared to Judd's. Warmth flowed into his body, and he felt calmer than he had since he arrived at his father figures house. He felt smaller, younger, and safer around Judd and Grace, despite her much smaller stature. "You're so small, Bucky." Judd whispered against his curls. "Small and cute, just like Grace."
"No," Buck blushed, his face turned into Judd's chest so he could hide his embarrassment.
"Yes." Judd's arms squeezed around him, somehow making him feel even smaller and safer. "To me, you and Grace are the same." The older man teased. "But, I am a giant, so I suppose that my opinion is a little skewed."
"Grace is -" Buck mumbled. "You are -" He cut himself off again, frustrated.
"It's okay, tiny. We felt the same way. Believe it or not, I'm not usually this nice." Judd rose to his feet suddenly, cradling Buck in his arms with the kind of smile that looked like it was supposed to be gentle but was actually more akin to that of a warrior carrying home the spoils of war. "You're special, Bucky." He explained.
"You're special." Buck mumbled in retaliation. He knew Judd had been complimenting him, but Buck had always been uncomfortable when people were kind to him. He simply wasn't used to it.
"Settle." Judd warned him, his face drifting back to its normal stern expression. Buck hid his face again when the very sight made him blush.
It took no time at all for Judd to carry him back to the bed, carefully placing him in the middle, removing the bed sheets that had previously been used to tie him down so that they could all lie down comfortably. Grace immediately curled herself around Buck in such a way that her chest provided a soft cushion for him to turn into and her head was above his on the pillow, Buck liked how soft she was, none of the women he'd been around before had offered him that kind of comfort. Judd climbed in on the opposite side of the bed. He used one hand to carefully turn Buck's head to face him and then proceeded to touch their foreheads together.
All of the anxiety, the discomfort, and the general bad feelings that he'd been experiencing bled out of him. Touching foreheads was an act of trust for Buck. When he first allowed TK and then Owen to touch their foreheads to his it had been to show them that he was ready for them to take charge, to look after him. With Judd, it was him taking that control from Buck and promising to share it with his wife.
It was overwhelming.
It was caring.
Buck loved it.
