This is just for anyone interested in how it works, and not a story chapter. Feel free to skip to the actual events, this is just for anyone curious.
Chapter one will likely be the most hands-on chapter, just so that I can force the setting to be introduced.
Chapter 1 outline:
Intro to setting
Meet best friend who shows us to our class
Go to classA
Assignment
In group project with classmates
End on cliffhanger
Now, what do these words mean?
To set up the story, I forced the reader to meet whichever character got assigned "best friend" role (it ended up Gumi). I also forced the reader to go to a class.
Every category, including characters, random events, conflicts, and of course class, has numbered options from 1-whatever.
This way, when I go onto the google RNG(random number generator) and set it from 1-6, I can see what class the reader will to go to, who they will interact with, etc.
The same system applies to other categories, including random events, such as:
3. reader skips class with characterA
If a 3 is generated, then this event will happen. I then generated a number to determine the character the reader will skip class with.
When it came to characters, I picked 13 vocalsynths and numbered each of them (there are now more than that, but most are background characters). Next, I wrote down 10 roles in the story the character could play. I then collected 18 dere types that I thought could be interesting, and then collected 20 traits that could help additionally describe the personality and motivations for each character. For example, Gumi looks like this.
Gumi
Role: Best friend
Dere: Megadere
Trait: Extreme optimist
(By the way, I added some more background characters on standby, to fill the reader's classes. This chapter is being written at many different points in time, so some things may be outdated.)
I also prepared a few options for each chapter to begin with, not counting the first chapter:
1. Dialogue between characterA and characterB
2. Immediate continuation of last chapter
3. Character A thinking about previous events
4. Character A in class
5. Main friend group having lunch
6. Y/N in classA
7. Y/N and Len encounter in areaA
These are some examples of many, and more will be added as the story evolves.
This way, the story can be random, but have the potential for SOME continuity, and/or SOME interactions between the reader and Len just in case the story happens to derail completely.
