In front of you is a sea of fellow students, with dreams of singing just like yours. Trying to graduate and go on to join a special school for vocalists, such as the well-known Vocaloid University or the popular Synthesizer V Academy for Vocalists. But before you can achieve your dreams, you must first go through three years of high school, which requires finding your first class. 

You really wish they gave you a map, or that your timetable at least included room numbers. You look around for anyone who might be in the same year and notice a student with bright green hair walking nearby. 

"Er, Excuse me...." you begin, walking up to them. "Do you know where...Music B is?" 

They turn to you and smile. "Yes! Me and my friend Gackpo are in that class too! It's in room 514, near the atrium. I'm heading there now."

"Oh, thanks. Can I come with you?" 

"Of course! Follow me."

She introduces herself as Gumi, and walks you through the atrium on the way, to show you where people eat their lunch. Her older sister Sonika is a third year and gave her a school map so she knows her way around.

"One time, a girl named Miku snuck after school and put a bunch of spider eggs in that plant pot!" she says, pointing to a woven hanger filled with red cornflowers, "Not the Miku who goes here, this one has a different surname and black hair. The teachers didn't figure it out, but most students knew. People think she did it as revenge because she was mad she couldn't get in, and- Oh! we're here!"

After Gumi insists on holding the door, you step inside to be greeted by posters of musicians, inspirational quotes, and many chairs. When Gumi catches up to you, a tall student with purple hair dashes toward the two of you. 

"Gumi!!! How have you been?" they ask with a large grin on their face. The two share a small hug as she chuckles. 

"I've been great! I've been showing my new friend around," she says, grabbing your hand excitedly. "This is Gackpo, I mentioned him earlier! You'll never meet a better team leader and motivator. He's been the class representative every year at our middle school, and I bet he'll snag the position this year tool!" 

Gackpo hides his face, seemingly embarrassed at her compliments.

"Oh, you! I'm not that great!" He counters, giving her a playful punch. 

Unfortunately, that punch sent her flying to the other side of the room. 

You run over to check on her, Gackpo following closely behind. A few students gather around, while others look frozen in shock. A pink-haired girl simply sighs, as if she knew this would happen.

"Oh, not again! Are you alright?" He asks. 

"Do you still have the map? We could take you to the nurse's office if you need..." you offer as she slowly gets back on her feet. 

"I'm A-OK! I'm used to it. " She says, beaming. "I'm pretty resilient now thanks to Ga-"

You put a finger to her lips. "Maybe we should lay off the compliments...just in case."

Gackpo sighs. "I wish there were classes on getting unfit. I don't even work out, but whenever I get flustered or embarrassed, I can't seem to control my strength."

It seems like these two have it tough.

The teacher quickly writes a note excusing them to the nurse's office, and Gackpo volunteers to take her while you stay in class.

"It was my fault this happened, and I'm strong enough to carry her on my own. You should pay attention to class introductions and such." he insists.

"Are you sure?"
