Dear Leon,

I hope peace has found you well
as it did for me eventually.

I doubt you'll read this or receive it, but I am writing about what has consumed my thoughts since that faithful day.

You were right. From the moment you entered the church, I hesitated to trust you since the daunting question lingered: How could one man possibly navigate a village haunted by lost souls while carrying the burden of a helpless prisoner?

It was no surprise that I was humbly mistaken.
Witnessing your ease in taking every obstacle and your undying faith in me dissolved my doubts.

With each passing day, I know now what you meant that night on the ship. Each word you spoke has been etched into the fabric of my skin.

With painful clarity, now I see the burden you have to carry.

And I cannot shake the thought that I serve as a cruel reminder of the darkness you desire to leave behind.

Perhaps I remind you of the joy stolen from those you could not save.

Or maybe you just feel pity for me.

But I want you to know this, Leon.

From the depths of my lonely heart,

I will always love you.

...

In your restless dreams, you saw that town. The innocent village that was dreadfully turned into Saddler's slaves.

You wanted this nightmare to end.

The hauntings of Saddler's voice and flashes of the past wouldn't escape your constant waking mind.

"You are alone, child."

War was raging inside of you, too.

The nightmares, constant, endless nights, and panic attacks didn't stop. However, as time passed, you've grown accustomed to the battle. It never worried you because you knew he would always be there to come and save you from the nightmare.

And that was the only danger that lived where you needed him to be.

You had to remind yourself that his existence could only live inside your head.

He was gone. He's gone.

The more you fought, the less terrifying the dreams became, so you never gave up.

Hence, you took Leon's advice and got those knife lessons. You requested to be trained even with everyone's disapproval after the incident of your kidnapping.
