Leon pulls away from you, his eyebrows knitting together in a furrow, intensely peeved.

He answers profoundly as he sits on the edge of the bed, turned away from you, displaying his toned back. "Yes...I understand-" he begins to say, and a sudden change in his expression occurs as he glances back at you. "Yes..." he mumbles. "I'll be there as soon as I can." The call ends shortly after, and he looks down at his phone. You turn to sit at the edge of the bed as he gets up.

"Is something wrong? Who was it?" you ask him, worried about his demeanor.

"It was Hunnigan. Plans have changed," he answers directly.

"Plans?" you question and stand up as you watch him get dressed.

He was hesitant at first because of your current situation. Yet, he knew that you would figure it out through your stubbornness one way or another.

"...I wasn't needed until tomorrow, but I'm requested to get back to the White House now," he says as he puts on his shirt.

"...I'm coming with you." you stammer and begin to fix yourself. He was afraid you were going to say something like that.

"You should stay here where it's safe. If there is another attack, I need you to stay far away from it," he declares and grabs your arms halfway through buttoning.

Just like Dad said...

You examine his stern face and place your hands on his forearms. He notices your worried demeanor and comes forward. "Leon, there's something I have to tell you..."

Suddenly, your phone begins to ring outside of the room.

You inhale sharply and turn to the sound. "I should get that..." you say blankly and head towards the sound.

An unknown number?

Flipping your phone, you answer the unknown caller. "Hello?"

Silence hung heavy, broken only by the crackling static and punctuated by the rhythmic breaths echoing within.

"Hello?" you repeat, but suddenly, a high-pitched noise hits the speaker and pierces your ears. "What the?" you mumble to yourself and hang up.

Must be...a prank call...

In this moment, the silence around you is broken when the voice behind you speaks.

"You're joining the BSAA." Leon interrupts, and you turn towards him, slightly startled as you don't even hear him coming.

Anxiety began to intertwine itself with your movements.

As he walked deeper, his entire demeanor shifted. Something had changed, but at first, you couldn't quite put your finger on it. Then, as you looked closer, you finally noticed the reason behind it.

The letter...

There he stands, not even wholly dressed yet; staring at the letter in his hands. You notice your heart rate quickening and feel the anticipation building up within you. You take a deep breath and hold it momentarily, trying to steady yourself and focus on the task.

He knows...

Hesitant to answer that statement, it was too late to lie or argue.

"I am," you say gently, slowly approaching him. You didn't know what kind of response he would give you. Your heart ached for his approval. Yet...if he disapproved...it wouldn't change anything. You wanted to do the right thing. "You know of it?"

"Yes. I had a feeling they would get to you next." his glance doesn't touch yours as it still chides at the paper.

"Leon...you understand...why do I have to," you ask with a brittle tone. You finally move to grab his hand that gripped onto the letter, taking into notice his slight scowl. "You're upset."
