This first scale is the one note per string scale to be honest probably one of the hardest of all, it's also called sweeping or sweep picking The red dots are what's called a root notes it's literally the number one note like in the all the other examples so if you were in the key of A you'd make sure the red dots would be placed where the A note is on your fret board on the same string as in the pictures
Note this is used in classical, metal, djent, math rock, most things advanced

This next example is 2 notes per string known as the pentatonic scale ( this is a scale that is only composed of 5 notes. Pentatonic like pentagon is 5)
Note at first you'll here musicians bag out this scale as a beginner scale and being simplistic but as time goes on you'll see this is one of the most badass scales out there I love this scale it has a lot of potential to expand further which I'll showcase in other examples this is used a lot in rock music, some jazz, metal country, blues, tbh I genuinely almost only use the minor shape

This next example is 3 notes per string scales this is your normal 7 note scale learning this can start to create some serious speed you'll hear most pro guitarists do this be it metal, classical, jazz, rock, alternative, all advanced stuff will shred these scales to be honest i use 99% of the time the major shape as it's so easy to remember cause of how the shape is arranged and if you remember at the start from the basic scales page that depending where I start on the scale it will be minor (count 6 dots starting on the red dot and that will be the minor one but keeping the same easy shape as the major makes life easier.
