Dead Blood Episode 3 - Stay Put

Chapter 8 - Rescue Mission

"Not too far away now" Joe said to himself looking at a map. He carried on walking through the woods which he came across a couple of hours ago. "We chopped these trees down to make the wall, I must be close" he said in delight looking at five tree stumps, he then looked up and he saw the east side of the wall. He got out his M1911 pistol and he crouched down moving closer to the wall. Once he got there he put his ear against the wall, "how long does it take!" A voice shouted,
"I'm getting done as soon as I can" Jason replied. Joe moved away from the wall, he then got the walkie talkie out and said, "hello anyone there?" He asked the walkie talkie, there was no answer. He placed his ear against the wall again, "that walkie talkie dude just spoke again" a voice said, "don't answer it, there's nothing to worry about" another voice replied. Joe went round the corner of the wall to the north side where the entrance was, he saw two men guarding the entrance and a walker heading to the entrance. "I've got em" one of the men said and he shot the walker through its brain. Joe put his gun away and then walked round the corner and said, "hey is this a sanctuary, I need shelter?"
"Put your hands up!" One of the men shouted. Joe put his hands up and the two men walked towards him, once they were in touching reach, Joe smacked the guns out of their hands and knock them both out. He picked up their guns and then fired them up in the air, he ran back round the corner and he climbed up a tree in the woods and hid. There were voices coming from the entrance, "look here the guards are unconscious!" They said. Joe climbed across a branch and managed to get inside the street. "Nothing's changed here" Joe said to himself. He then stealthily walked down the street and stopped as he heard a scream coming from a garage. He moved up to the garage door and banged twice on it, he ran and then went inside the house which the garage was attached to. He went to where the garage and the house were connected and wine through into the garage, he came to a man blind folded in a chair. "Cam!" he said surprisingly,
"Who...who's there?" Cam asked,
"It's me Joe I've come to help you" Joe replied,
"No one can save me from him" Cam said weakly.
"Let me get you out of these ropes" Joe said,
"There's no point, I'm not strong enough to even get out of this chair, find someone else" Cam said in ago you. Joe snook out and as he went out the door a man stood in front of him, and Joe punch him and knocked him out straight away, "Dave?" Joe said astonished. He carried on through the house leaving Dave on the floor, he walked back outside and to the left of him there was a family.
"Excuse me what is this place?" Joe asked them,
"This is a sanctuary but we're not treated well here so I would leave if I were you" A women said,
"My group and I built this walk around this place before they took over it, I'm going to win it back, but I need help of prom you guys" Joe pleaded,
"Of course I'd do anything to get rid of those horrible people, what have we got to lose anyway" the women said.
"Ok, any guard you see do what you have to do to get rid of them" Joe ordered. They all split up and it wasn't long before Joe came across a guard who was on the look out for the person who Knocked the two guards out at the entrance, Joe kicked the back of one of their legs but was then punched by the other one which stunned him.

Joe woke up blindfolded in the garage where Cam was, "who's there?" Joe asked,
"It's me, where's Rebekah?" Cam asked
"She's with James" Joe replied
"James?" Cam asked
"Yeah James from school, he's alive, been surviving on his own for most of the time" Joe replied,
"Okay, we need to win this place back, because you won't be able to escape because you're too weak at the moment" Joe suggested
"Well that's a good idea but how?" Cam asked
"There's a family here, they said they would help" Joe replied,
"There is more than just one family here, but they are being tortured for fun" Cam said
"What, why" Joe asked astonishingly,
"You tell me, probably because they're sick!" Cam said,
"There must be a reason why though" Joe said. Cam did not answer.
"Wait i saw Dave outside, do you think it's because..." Joe asked, but before he could finish Cam butted in and ordered, "you cannot tell anyone about that, let's pretend you do not know ok." Suddenly there was the sound of a door opening and before they could ask who it was they chucked of their chairs and dragged along the floor. They were then forced to kneel and then there blindfolds were removed, they were outside.
"Now that we have both of you here it's about time Joe heard the the whole story don't you think?" Dave asked Cam
"No one needs to know anything, this isn't the time or world for it, we need to work together to survive" Cam replied. Dave laughed and said,
"How can we work together after what you did" Dave laughed
"I don't need to know the story" Joe said. Dave didn't listen and he then started telling the story,
"Years ago back in school Cam and I were both good mates until one day we were walking along a cliff side and I slipped, now you would expect that Cam would help me up but he didn't he ran"
"You fucked my girlfriend, I hated you!" Cam shouted
"Anyway the next day in school I spotted Cam walking to class so I confronted him by punching him, however Cam turned around and started beating me almost to death if it wasn't for the teacher!" Dave shouted back, he calmed down and then carried on, "after Cam was expelled from the school and the next day the whole world wasn't the same" Dave calmly said.
"You know what you did to me" Cam said
"Yeah your girlfriend cheated on you for me but I did not deserve to die for it" Dave drew the line. He then took his gun out and then pointed it down at Cam's head, "I've been holding this back for a while now." He pulled the trigger and a bullet was not shot, "fuck it's out!" Dave shouted, " wait where the hell is everyone?" He asked as he turned around where there was no one in sight. Suddenly Rebekah came round the corner, "surprise" She said and then James came from behind Dave and pierced a long sharp pipe through his stomach Dave cried out with a loud groan and turned around, "I remember you, you were that lanky kid in school" Dave said,
"I remember you as well, you were that dickhead that no one liked" James replied and then Dave dropped to the floor dead.
"I should have died then, i deserve it" Cam said.
