Dead Blood Episode 3 - Stay Put

Chapter 13 - Sacrifice

Cam shot the walker in the head, Sandra was trying not to scream and had her hand covering the bite,
"We have to cut it off!" Jason ordered,
"We can't now, look at how many are coming towards us!" Cam shouted back,
"You son of a bitch, we need to cut it off now, she won't survive if we do it any later!" Jason shouted to Cam. Cam new he had a difficult decision to make and he had to think fast,
"Everyone into the woods and do what you have to do, I'll distract them" Cam ordered,
"Cam no, you can't!" Rebekah cried,
"It's the only way to keep Sandra alive" Cam told her. Before they new it the walkers were too close for them to run, they all readied their guns and they started shooting at the walkers, Cam shot at them to his left.
"Quick there's a route into the woods!" He shouted to everyone, they all gave in and they ran into the woods and leaving Cam behind. Cam used his revolver to shoot them, and after he used up his six bullets he had no time to reload...

Everyone ran further into the forest, they could hear the screams of Cam from a distance away,
"Why doesn't he save the bullet for himself" Rebekah cried,
"He didn't want to go down without a fight" Joe replied saddened,
"It's now or never" Jason told everyone,
"No not yet, we need a safe place where no one can hear her" Joe told Jason
"Why?" Jason asked,
"Because I know how much it hurts, and she would be a god if she could cope with the pain" Joe replied,
"Fine quick then" Jason ordered, suddenly after Sandra fell to the ground,
"It's too late, the infection has spread up through my arm and into the rest of my body, it's not long until my fever kicks in" Sandra said,
"No" Jason cried,
"Yes, you have to shoot me or I'll put everyone in danger" she pleaded,
"No you've got time and you deserve all the time you have left to be together" Joe told them both, "when the time is right then we'll do what we have to do" he added,
"Okay, when you're ready Sandra you say" Jason told Sandra,
"We don't really know how long someone could last because we never let them get bad before" Rebekah said,
"What are we going to do now then?" James asked,
"I feel we should carry the journey on and one day maybe we could say to Cam, we made it to Area 51" Rebekah suggested,
"Alright let's go" Joe said,

The group carried on through the forest and had were staring to get very dehydrated as all the supplies were in the cars,
"We haven't had rain for a long while" Carlos said,
"How far is Area 51?" Rebekah asked,
"I'm not gonna be your Dad and say not far, because it's a long long way" Joe told her,
"We're not gonna survive without supplies then" Rebekah said,
"You're right" Joe said,
"Okay guys we need to find food and water, let's split up and go half a mile in different directions and then meet back here" Joe explained. They all did as Joe said but Rebekah was made to follow Joe and Sandra was back at the meeting point,
"How long do you think Sandra will survive for?" Rebekah asked,
"Well her fever has kicked in now, it won't be long until it kills her, and that's when someone will have to take charge and shoot her" Joe replied. They carried on walking until they came to a large hut,
"Jackpot" Joe said smiling, they went up on the porch and Joe gave the door a large knock and there as no reply,
"There are no walkers in there" Joe said. They smashed open the door only to find a back door with walkers outside of it,
"Shut the back door!" Ella screamed, Joe ran to the door and shut whilst the Rebekah shut the door they entered through.
"The walls have corroded and they won't last long before the walkers smash them down, before they knew the walkers were banging on the doors.

Luke was still searching and he could not find anything, he soon found the main road, and he looked down, but he could not see the cars,
"We must have made some good distance" Luke said to himself, "I didn't even get to say I'm sorry Cam" Luke said,
"There's no need, I forgive you" a man said from behind him, Luke turned round and he could see it was Cam, he was covered in blood and Luke almost couldn't tell him from the walkers. Cam had started growing a beard since they left the camp and the the thickness wasn't too bad from when Luke last saw him, but Cams beard was starting to thicken out,
"You look like shit" Luke laughed,
"Well I'm not bit that's the main thing, speaking of bit where's Sandra?" Cam asked suddenly,
"She's in the forest but it was too late she going to turn soon" Luke replied,
"I'm guessing everyone else is in the woods as well" Cam guessed,
"Yes but we all went in different directions for supplies" Luke told him,
"Well there's no need I have some of the supplies here which I quickly picked up before I left" Cam said. Suddenly they could hear the screams of two voices...
