𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐍 it for a while, Seok and Y/n finally opened the nearest cart door and glanced outside. It was quiet and the place looked spotless, almost like the virus had yet to arrive here. That or everyone has been quarantined. "Should we go check things out?"Her gaze then shifted to a large group of survivors making their way towards the station entrance. "Look, there's a group going inside. Maybe we should follow them?" She suggested.

"Okay..." Seok replied softly, his expression reflecting a mix of determination and caution. He stepped out of the train, extending a hand to help Y/n out before closing the door behind them, the sound echoing in the empty station. Even though everything seemed to be safe here, the pair still kept their bloodied and used baseball bats close to them.

They walked in silence for a few minutes, the tension palpable in the air, until their eyes landed on a familiar sight: Jin-hee and Yong-guk. Y/n's heart skipped a beat as she recognized them, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. Without hesitation, she rushed towards them, her movements fueled by a surge of relief and longing.

With a cry of joy, she threw herself at Jin-hee, wrapping her in a bone-crushing hug that spoke volumes of the fear and uncertainty they had endured.
Jin-hee stumbled backward slightly, caught off guard by Y/n's sudden embrace, but soon returned the hug with equal fervor, her own eyes glistening with tears of relief. "Y/n, oh my gosh, I thought I'd never see you again," she exclaimed, her voice choked with emotion, but her loudness was promptly met with shushing from the people passing by them.

"그 문제에 대해서는 정말 미안해요." The h/c-haired girl apologized, nuzzling into Jin-hee's neck, still trying to process everything. Was this real? Today seemed like a dream and by God, did Y/n pray that it was. "I'm really sorry about that." She sighed as she pulled away from her best friend. "Are... you and Yong-guk alright?" She looked between the two to be met with meek nods.

"There were a few close calls," Yong-guk admitted, shifting his weight between his feet. "But, we're fine."

"Good." Seok rested his hands on his hips. "Let's get inside. I don't want to be outside here much longer." As soon as he said this, the small group continued their way inside the building, quiet and trying to recuperate from what hell they witnessed on the train.

Finally, inside the train station, Seok and Y/n branched away from their classmates to quietly talk amongst themselves. They both came to the unspoken conclusion that Jin-hee and Yong-guk would not be in the mood to chat, which was perfectly fine. "너 안 괜찮아 보여." Y/n's crush suddenly whispered. "You don't look okay."

Her eyebrows furrowed and as she looked up at him, Y/n smiled, "What makes you say that?" She asked.

"I don't know," Seok replied, honestly. "Is something on your mind?" He pressed on, wondering what out of the many possibilities it could be. Y/n did have a few things on her mind, one of which she didn't want to think about right now, but she shook her head for the time being. Now is not the time to be a Debbie Downer. This place will be filled to the brim with soldiers who will protect them, they won't have to worry about fighting anymore.

She shouldn't bring her pessimistic thoughts out, especially when they hadn't even had much time to celebrate this little win of theirs.

"Y/n, stop walking for a second." Seok gently ordered and, albeit confused, she complied with his demand anyway. "You have blood on you. Here..." he crouched down to get to her height, pulling at the end of his sleeve to wipe off the partially dried blood on her cheek. That's weird. She didn't even know it was on her. Still, it was hard to get off. "I'm sorry." Seok grimaced as he applied a bit more pressure, trying to scrap it off. He didn't want to hurt Y/n when he was trying desperately to do a courteous thing, but she didn't mind.
