Ava's POV:

A primal roar echoed through the wilderness, causing the very hedges to shudder. My instincts, tuned to the ancient rhythm of survival, instantly identified the raw power concealed within that fierce growl.

ZION!

The grotesque harpy pivoted away from the window, emitting a guttural growl that reverberated in the air. A wary step backward betrayed a fleeting uncertainty, but Zion, undeterred by the cat-and-mouse charade, unleashed a primal growl of his own. With relentless determination, he lunged at the wolf, a manifestation of raw power cutting through the ominous atmosphere like a blade through shadows.

In the savage dance of combat, the brown wolf lunged for Zion's neck, but Zion, a master of evasion, deftly sidestepped the assault. Snarls reverberated through the air as they circled, each a symphony of primal determination. In this deadly ballet, both warriors sought the chink in the other's armor, a test of wits amid the wild symphony of nature.

“Please, God! Help my Zion,” closing my eyes, I silently prayed for my mate.

A cacophony of agonizing screeches shattered the silence, forcing my eyes open. Through the window, a visceral tableau unfolded – Zion, an embodiment of relentless strength, had struck the wolf's neck with a decisive blow, severing the delicate dance of breath within. A gory torrent flowed, a stark reminder of the fragility of life. Yet, as blood painted the scene, Zion, unyielding in purpose, pressed on. In this brutal theater, the crimson narrative unfolded, a profound testament to the relentless pursuit of survival.

I watched as life left his body, and Zion threw away his carcass.

Zion turned towards me, trotting with a gentle grace. His longing eyes met mine as he playfully licked the window, attempting to open it with a mix of curiosity and affection. Frustrated by the barrier, he play-growled, as if urging the window to magically yield and bridge the gap between us. It was a sweet moment, a reminder of the simple yet profound connection between kindred spirits. He growled at the window as if threatening it to open itself.

He tried but, nothing. He looked into my eyes, his big orbs gleaming with concern and love, blood dribbling from his canines. For others, he may be ruthless, but for me, he’s my big teddy and protector.  I wanted to help him but the pain in my body was too much. After some time, he went away.

“Did he just leave me,” l wondered.

After a few minutes, Zion came back but it was not Zion, it was Alpha Xavier. Clad only in boxers, his sculpted physique radiated sensuality, gleaming with a sheen of sweat that accentuated the contours of his striking form. In this moment, his presence transcended the ordinary, an allure that captivated the senses with an intoxicating blend of strength and vulnerability.

Alpha Xavier quickly came and smashed the window, causing smidgens of glasses to shatter. Some small slabs pierce into my skin, making me hiss. Alpha Xavier noticed this and forwarded his hand.

"Love," he called, his voice laced with genuine concern, echoing through the air like a comforting melody. In that simple word, there was a symphony of emotions – a blend of care, warmth, and a profound connection that wrapped around the heart, creating a moment of pure, unspoken tenderness.

“He- he the-the ugly monster on-on. I was-was forest,” I hiccupped and my body shook from sobbing.

“Shhhh love, it’s alright,” he coeds softly.
