Love is pure, it's adulteration is pain!

Ava's POV:

My senses swirled in a bewildering fog as we approached the outskirts of the pack's territory, the air thick with the scent of pine and damp earth. Warriors patrolling the region.

“Alpha,”

Suddenly five wolves leaped from the trees, making me jump backwards. They lowered their eyes and bowed respectfully at Xavier.

“Hey man,” Beta Daniel ran towards us. His upper body was bare, indicating he just shifted from his wolf form.

“Where were you,”? Beta Daniel inquired. I looked at him, his abs were on display. His v-line glinting with sweat. A growl broke me out of my introspections, making me flinch. I looked at Xavier to see he was grimacing at me. His chest heaved up and down. His nostrils flaring. I quickly darted away.

What has gotten into him?

Xavier didn't speak anything and walked past Beta Daniel. Beta Daniel glanced at me in confusion. I reluctantly followed him to the pack house.

In all of this, they failed to notice a shadow moving away from the borders of the pack.

Ava

Xavi

I was engulfed in a tight hug, as I footed inside the pack house. Fleur's scent hit me harder. I can feel her body clamped up in anxiety.

I slowly wrapped my arms around her. I can feel her relaxing in my embrace, her shoulders dropping as the tension releases. A deep breath filled her lungs, as she soaked in my embrace.

“You scared us, Sapp,” she whispered.

Soon, another pair of arms wrapped around us. I looked up to see Cora's eyes glisten with tears as she clasped me tightly.

“I'm fine, guys,” I reassured them with a small smile.

“Are you okay, Xavi? I was so worried about you,” Jessica ran towards him and embraced him tightly. My eyes brimmed as I watched, Xavier wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer to his chest. My chest seared to look at them.

“Where were you both,”? Jessica raised a question.

“A rogue attacked Ava,” Xavier notified her. His voice was void of any emotions. Jessica turned around and gazed at me.

“How are you, Ava,”? She inquired softly. I nodded at her. Not having any words to utter.

“Excuse me,” I excused myself to freshen up. I can't stay here and look at him being with her. Sapphire was howling in pain.

“I was so worried about you, baby,” Jessica whispered while hugging Xavier again. I glanced back at them to see they were sitting in the living room.

Jessica was running her hand through his hair. His eyes were closed, and his head tilted up. I watched as she ran her fingers through his luscious locks. Something, I yearned to do. A lone tear escaped my eyes, I quickly turned around and ran away.

"Happy Anniversary baby,” she exclaimed and kissed him passionately. Sapphire cried, and I quickly looked away. Hot pain surged through my body. Tears brimmed my eyes, but I blinked them away. Can’t let them see my vulnerability. Today is their anniversary. Just as I took a step, my feet twisted, and I fell to the floor. My knee scraped on the sharp edge of the stairs.

“Ah,” I yelled as sharp pain spread through my leg.

“I smell blood… Oh my, Ava! Your knee is seeping,” Jessica said worriedly.

“I’m fine,” I said and took a step down when suddenly…

Alpha Xavier was right in front of me. One of his knees is on the ground and the other prop. He took his hankie and wrapped it around my knee. My heart skipped a beat at this act. I was still in a daze, even when he stood up and dusted his jeans, and turned to Jessica, who was looking at us, head tilted to the side.

As his finger slid beneath her chin, drawing her attention, a surge of shock jolted through me. Swiftly averting my gaze, I hastened away, a turbulent mix of emotions echoing in my retreat.

The night came by quickly, and after doing my night routine, I flopped on the bed. My babies quickly jumped on me. Aww! Someone wants cuddles.

My mind was replying to all the events that occurred just in a day. Xavier and Jessica's faces were stamped on my mind. Daryad's fairy words were ringing in my mind. And that flower? What's that flower?

Amidst this mental symphony, a mysterious flower lingered, its significance elusive yet demanding my unraveling

As they peacefully slept in my embrace, on the brink of entering the realm of dreams, an agonizing, searing pain ripped through my body, forcing an involuntary whimper to escape my lips.

A scorching blaze ignited from the depths of my being, centered around my very core. The torment, unmistakably familiar, seized me with an intensity that rendered me helpless. Tears cascaded down my cheeks as the excruciating pain became an overwhelming force.

Writhing in agony, I inadvertently disturbed the tranquil slumber of my furry companions. With innocence radiating from their large, empathetic eyes, they leaped from the bed, joining my silent symphony of suffering, their gentle whimpers echoing the depth of my distress.

I quickly got off, took a cloth, and shoved it in my mouth, to stop any noise coming from my mouth. I can’t let the whole pack know what’s happening.

A relentless tide of agony surged through every fiber of my being, an all-encompassing torment that gripped me mercilessly. My heart, a vice against my rib cage, threatened to crush my very essence.

Beads of sweat-drenched my trembling body, the moisture a testament to the intensity of my ordeal. Suffocation tightened its grip, each breath a struggle against an invisible force. Desperation laced my plea as I cried out within, “Someone, please, make it stop.”

“ Sapphire,” I called my wolf, but she didn’t answer. She was howling in pain.

“Sa-Sapp,” I hesitantly called again.

“Ava, I don’t feel good,” she whimpered.

“ What- What do you mean,” I asked, but she didn’t answer.

Why? Why do I still love him? Why can’t I hate him? Why can’t I make him feel the same pain, he made us go through? Why?

“Because we are worship of his existence. No matter how he shatters our hearts, we will still love him with every broken fiber of our being,” my wolf whispered.

Slowly, darkness danced before my eyes. Before succumbing to darkness. I whispered…
