"I wasn't in love with him. I know everyone thought I was. But I wasn't." Oliver sighs reminiscing on past memories of Felix. "I loved him. Of course! It was impossible not to love Felix. And that was part of the problem."
"Everyone loved him. Everyone wanted to be him." He shakes his head pausing to inhale his cigarette. "Including me."
"He had everyone's attention. Especially the girls. Christ! The girls!" Oliver chuckled. "They'd practically throw themselves at him. He could have had anyone he wanted."
"But he chose the one girl who was meant to be mine." The man seethed losing his temper for a moment before regaining himself. "It was embarrassing, really, how everyone fawned over him. I think honestly that was why he liked us so much."
"I was honest with him. I understood him."
"And Kat..." Oliver smiled thinking about the girl. "She'd never been with anyone other than Felix. He could be whoever he wanted to be with her."
"I loved him." He nods. "But he loved her and she loved him."
"Where did that leave me?"
