"We need to go, NOW," I said. I pulled up my Carina and we bolted. As we ran, I was thinking about the possibilities if the Mayor found me. He would take me to Eir, and I would be told to leave my home, my family, and never be put into my official computer spot. It would be just like Carina, I'd be glitched. "I can't believe that I forgot about the Mayor! Coach told us just today!" I felt so stupid, Something would easily happen to Carina also, even though she was just called in by the mayor.

I looked over to my side, to make sure Carina was doing ok, bit she wasn't there! I was panicking, and stopped running all together. I turned. Carina was lying on the ground, panting, but she didn't look like she was getting up anytime soon. I completely forgot that she mustn't have any training like I do for the Choosing, and glitches' programs are changed to become more vulnerable. And technically, slower all together!

"Carina!" I yelled, "Carina you have to get up,!" Everything was rushing through my head, Carina, the Mayor, Eir, and my parents. We needed to get home, my parents were probably freaking out. I started sprinting back towards Carina, just to hear the rumbling, loud noises from the Mayor's clunky robot guards.

Carina looked like she was trying to get up. She struggled, now that she was glitched. I made it to Carina.

"Carina, you have to get up! The Mayor is gonna' be here soon! If he sees you out, he could delete from the Main Computer!" I shook Carina, she seemed like she was in a deep sleep. I didn't want to do this, but I had to. I lifted Carina onto my shoulders. Thank god for training with coach.

"C'mon Carina! Just a little-bit-farther! Mom will take care of us!" I trudged down the street, when finally, my small, grey house came into view. I sprinted as fast as I could, which wasn't very fast. I could feel Carina moving just barely on top of me, and I could hear her moaning in pain. I made it to my house. I opened up the small gate outside and stomped through the grass.

Just before I opened the door, I put Carina down on the bench outside my house. I placed my hand on the cold, white knob of the door but I stopped right as I heard my mother talking. It was muffled, but I could faintly understand most of it.

"Oh my lord, are you sure that's what happened? Can you please double check? Ok..." I pulled my head away from the door slowly. I had no idea what she was talking about, until I heard her once again. She was crying.

"I-I j-just c-c-can't believe t-that's h-h-he's g-gone! Oohhh!"

I knew just what was happening, I burst though the door, crying. My mother reached her long, slick arms out to me, realizing that I knew. My father is MIA, and he might never come back.
