Inosuke ran to Tanjiro screaming, which was normal. He tackled Tanjiro very aggressively, which was also normal-
"GONPACHIROO! MONITSU TOLD ME SOMETHINGG!!" Inosuke screamed enthusiastically, if he had a tail it would definitely be wagging. His smile was beaming bright and he had a small tint of pink on his cheeks.
Tanjiro smiled at Inosuke. "What is it Inosuke?"
"I WANT TO KISS YOU" Inosuke said, excited about what he learned about himself. he had wondered what this fuzzy feeling in his chest was, and why he only felt it around Tanjiro. Tanjiro's face flushed hearing what Inosuke had just randomly said
"A-Are you sure? do you even know what a kiss is?" Tanjiro was sure Inosuke meant something else with those words, but he hated to admit it, but he did wish he was telling the truth.
"Well i told Monitsu that i wanted to just- smash or faces together" Inosuke gave himself a soft facepalm as a gesture while he was explaining "I explained the giddy feeling i get with you and he said that i had a 'Crush' and that i wanted to 'Kiss You'. SO CAN WE KISS MONJIRO?"
"Why would you ask Zenitsu about that-.." Tanjiro sighed, laughing to himself quietly.
"I want to smash out faces together and have our mouths battle for dominance!! >:D"
Tanjiro's cheeks turned a bright shade of red. "alright maybe you do have a crush on me-" Tanjiro chuckled under his breath. "Well, if you really want to do that..take off the boar mask.."
Inosuke hesitated for a moment, but he complied and took it off, revealing his very flushed face. He almost looked like an entirely different person, his face was relaxed and held an almost shy looking expression, not the usual eager and confidence he carried with him.
This expression perfectly matched up on Tanjiro's face as well.
They were both new to this kind of stuff and had no idea how to express this different kind of love to eachother, Tanjiro had only read and heard about this meanwhile Inosuke had no clue about it. But they were determined to figure it out together.
Tanjiro took the first step and decided to take the lead this time.
He stepped closer to Inosuke, carefully wrapped his arms around him and inched his face closer to the other's. He hesitated for a moment, his heart feeling like it would beat out of his chest, his stomach filled with butterflies swirling around.
He closed his eyes and closed the distance between the two of them, pressing his lips against Inosuke's.
Inosuke was left in shock for a hot second before relaxing himself and accepting Tanjiro's embrace, he held onto Tanjiro's face, using one of his hands to gently caress Tanjiro's cheek. He didn't know this feeling but it felt natural to him, it was mostly instinct that led him to do those actions.
Tanjiro knew this feeling though, this kiss sealed the deal. He loved him. This wasn't just a mere crush. He had fallen in love <3
They lasted like this for only mere seconds, but to them it felt like minutes. Tanjiro was the one to pull away from the kiss, he smiled at Inosuke.
"I love you.." Tanjiro confessed. Inosuke didn't exactly know what he meant by that but he felt that it would be best if he said it back.
"Love you too"
