I saw Ryujin trying to throw the ball into the basket. "Oh, dude. Why the fuck can't I do it? I did it just earlier.. why not now?" She whined. "I wanna try" Yeji snatched the ball from Ryujin and made a goal. "Wanna join Minsoo?" Ryujin asked. To be honest, I didn't want to but since everyone are doing it, imma try too.
"Ok, sure" I said and took the basketball. I wasn't sure how to do it. I tried but it didn't go inside the basket. The ball touched the basked and then bounced back and hit Yeji on the head.
"Bro?! What the-"
"Shit! I'm sorry, Yeji-ya. I didn't mean to"
"It's ok. It doesn't hurt that bad"
"Lemme look into it" Ryujin said and went closer to Yeji. I too went closer and looked into the place where it hit her. Nothing happened but it hurt her a lil bit.
"Imma just take a break" Yeji said and sat on the nearby bench.
"Shall we continue playing?" Ryujin asked.
I hesitated. "It's okay. You don't have to feel guilty for earlier. Just go play" Yeji said.
Me and Ryujin started playing again. And I couldn't make the ball fall into the basket. "Shit. This is indeed not so easy" I tried again but still, I couldn't get it.
"That's not how you do it" the ball got snatched from my hands. It was Hyunjin. He threw the ball while looking at me, not even at the basket and guess what? He got it. Of course, he has been a good player since he was young. It makes sense. "You are throwing the ball in the wrong way. The finger placement is supposed to be different" he said and placed the ball in my hands. I tried to throw like he did but still, I couldn't do it. "Wait" he said and took the ball. He placed the ball in my hands and stood behind me. I didn't get it why he suddenly stood behind me but then he had his hands on the ball. Now, our hands are touching. And from an angle, it looked like he was back hugging me.
And then, he had his hands on mine and we both threw the ball into the basket together. Hand in hand. And it worked. "And I think you get how to do that now" he said. I don't know how it is like to him but to me, it was awkward.
I tried to do it myself again. And I got it! "Yess!" I exclaimed.
"Good" Hyunjin mumbled as he was looking at me. I looked at him. Smiling at each other. Staring into each other's eyes. Something about those eyes looking at me. It's irresistible. I hate how I'm feeling this way when I shouldn't.
We broke eye contact and he left saying he had some work to Yeji.
"Ok. Buy me few strawberries on your way home" she said and both of them waved a bye at each other.
I wondered. How is he exactly like? How does he actually feel about me? About us? What was the kiss for? Why is he being like this to me? Does he not know I hate mixed signals?
What a jerk.
Before all this, what about me? What do I feel about him? Why am I confused? Why is this stressing me out? Why am I drawn to him? Am I the bad guy? I don't know.
"Let's head home guys!" Ryujin said. "I feel so tired today. Guess I kinda worked too hard today" she added.
"Bro , you didn't even complete your basic work and assignments" Yeji said.
