Miles Away ( A Dolan Twins Fanfic )

Chapter 1: Goodbye Georgia, hello New Jersey

I opened my eyes to the blinding sun shining in my window.With a groan, I got out of bed and walked to my bathroom. As I finished brushing my teeth, I stared at the girl in the mirror. Hazel eyes, small nose, and nappy dark drown hair. I shut of the light and made my way downstairs.
The smell of eggs, bacon, and pancakes immediately filled my nose, it smelled wonderful. "Good morning sweetie, would you mind helping me set the table?" My Dad said with excitement in his voice. "Sure" I mumbled. I set the table for two and poured the orange juice while my dad put the food on the table. As we ate, we talked about my upcoming trip to New Jersey. " So do you have everything you need? " my dad asked. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've got everything" I answered in a casual tone. "Are you excited about seeing your mother?" "Absolutely!" I said in the most sarcastic tone possible. My mom walked out on us when I was 7. She moved to New Jersey with her new boyfriend and now Thanks to the law, I have to visit my mom every summer for a few weeks. After breakfast, I headed upstairs to get my things.

I said one final goodbye before my dad dropped me off at the airport. I went through all the normal procedures, and got on the plane. When I got off, I looked around at all the people in a hurry to get where they need to go. I scanned the area until i found a woman that looked like an older version of me. My mom. Wow, we really do look alike. I Walked up to her and she envoloped me in a hug. "Oh! Sweetie I've missed you! You look so beautiful!" She said in an excited tone. "Thanks mom. Its good to see you too." I said. She helped me carry my things to the car and put them in the back seat. On the way home, we made small talk. I told her about school and all the cute boys. As we turned on our street, I saw some of our neighbors in their yard. They both looked very attractive. But one of them in particular caught my eye.

I unpacked the car and took all of my stuff to the upstairs bedroom. I unpacked all of my bags and then plopped down on my oversized bed to check my social medias.

"Jazmine could you come downstairs please, sweetie?" My mom called from downstairs.

"Sure!" , I called.

As I made my way to the kitchen I passed Jack, my mom's boyfriend in the living room

"Hey!" He said with a hint of anxiety.

"Hi" I mumbled. I want nothing to do with that man.

"Hey mom", I said in a quiet tone.

"Hey sweetie! I'm inviting our neighbors over for dinner. We are really good friends and they have two very nice boys your age. I thought it would be a good start for you to make some friends." She said with a smile.

Even though I am upset with her for leaving me and my dad, I missed her, so I didn't want to dissapoint her.

"Ok, that sounds like fun"

* later that night *

* Jazmines's pov *

I was sitting in the living room watching Gossip Girl on Netflix when I heard a knock at the door.

" Jazmine, can you get the door? I'm cooking dinner."

"Sure thing mom"

I hopped off the couch and stopped in the mirror by the door to make sure I looked presentable. I had on bleach blue skinny jeans, a floral tank top, and I was wearing my favorite floral vans. My hair was in loose curls and my make up was nude. Yes, it'll do.

I opened the door and saw the same two boys that we passed in our neighborhood earlier, and who I assumed to be the parents.

" Please, come in." , I said in a welcoming tone.

"Mom! They're here!" , I called.

I led them to the table where my mom had prepared a mouth watering dinner.

"Hi!" My mom said in an excited tone.
"Jazmine, this is the Dolan family."

"Hello." I said with a big smile.

"Hey, my name is Grayson", he said with a small smile.

" And I'm Ethan.", the other boy said, also with a smile identical to Grayson's.

"Hi, its nice to meet you. You guys look like Twins, that's pretty cool." I said.

They may be really hot, but I'm not the kind of girl to swoon at the sight of attractive guys. So I'll guess I should get to know them.

"Yeah, it would seem that way." Ethan said with a chuckle.

I giggled, ahh, he's sarcastic. That's cool.

We all took our seats at the table and began to eat.
