Chapter - 1

The fates have always smiled upon me , I've got everything I dreamt in my life, experiencing a stellar professional journey , being an independent woman , getting rid of all the fake ness in my life including those mates. Today everything in relation to my life starts and ends with peace

"let's run away without paying the bill! What say?" Laiba exclaims. She's been my best friend since we started our schooling , we both had our equal shares of fake friends . She's the only one who was there for me , to lend an ear to my venting , to wipe my tears and many more things I can't even explain . I'm proud of our loyalty to our friendship and our journey to where we are now . She and I are constantly interested in doing questionable activities , the only difference is that , she never thinks about the outcomes and I do but it doesn't matter , in the end , we go through it and often regret our decision afterwards "laiba are you for real , what if somebody caught us , this isn't ideal for our career" I reply her in a hope that she would understand
"Calm down , miss cautious we're not really doing it" her laugh echoes in my ears , she often calls me names like that whenever I ask her to be prudent and beware of consequences. To change the topic I aim to ask her my favorite question "how's your job going on, doc?" Now it's my turn to laugh , the exhaustion clearly visible on her face and it is because she had a night shift yesterday "it was extremely tiring, I had to attend all the patients last night but at the end I was satisfied as my patients were " and that's the thing I love about her she's passionate about what she does.

Suddenly something strikes my mind , how can I forget to tell her
"Laiba you know about that real estate company Shah's properties" she leaves her food at the table and diverts all her attention towards me "yes who doesn't , your dream company right?" I know she's going to be thrilled after hearing what I am about to say "that company has offered me to work with them for their upcoming project" just when I finish my sentence, her mouth drops open and eyes gleams with pride , as if she is struggling to say something "damn broo! I'm so happy for you" she screamed those words and rushed towards me for a hug " let's celebrate" of course what else can I expect from laiba Rehman , but she was right this is a huge thing to celebrate.

We were so busy being happy that we didn't realize we were continuously screaming and yelling , we didn't realize it on our own the manager of that cafe came and politely told us "mam sorry to disturb your Happy moment but other people are not enjoying this so could you please celebrate elsewhere" not that I blame him , wherever we go there's always a monkey wrench in the works .

Now we are sitting in her house having noodles to celebrate getting asked to leave for the first time. " Did you see your face when he asked to leave" I hardly say those words , my stomach is aching because of laughing too hard "c'mon I had to be shocked it was our first time" we cackle our brains out till we were able to have another conversation

"so bestie according to my research the CEO of the company is an asshole" laiba says , to warn me about that so called asshole , well I've heard many negative things about him like he's arrogant and rude but that doesn't trouble me, I'll be there to work which I've mastered "laiba I'm not going there to marry him, I'll be there to work " . A dubious grin appears on her face which already warned me that something delusional is coming. After all, she's a reader. "you can't be sure tanzeela, by the way office romance sounds so cute , and the plus point is he's hot" she and her silly thoughts , one day they're going to be the reason we're in jail , I sarcastically laugh on her comment , we continue our ratings like always and after few hours I leave for my home
