I burst through the door of our penthouse, heart pounding in my chest. "Tanzeela!" I call out, my voice echoing through the empty hallways. Panic claws at me as I frantically search each room. The kitchen is empty, the living room silent. I rush to the bedroom, only to find it untouched, the bed neatly made as if mocking my desperation.

Where is she? My mind races with possibilities, each one more terrifying than the last. My feet carry me to every corner of the penthouse, my breath growing ragged. I check the bathroom, the guest room, even the balcony, but there's no sign of her.

Then, I notice the study door ajar. A flicker of hope ignites within me. I move toward it, my steps hurried yet hesitant. What if she's hurt? What if she's in trouble? The thoughts propel me forward, and I push open the door.

My heart shatters at the sight before me.

Tanzeela is on the floor, her eyes wide and haunted, staring at the papers scattered around her. My divorce papers. The ones I had foolishly left out. The ones I had forgotten even existed. She looks up at me, and the pain in her eyes is like a dagger to my soul.

"Tanzeela..." I whisper, my voice breaking. I move towards her, but she jerks away from me, her face twisted in anguish.

"Leave off, Salar," she snaps, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Mianima, you are misunderstanding everything," I plead, my heart aching at the sight of her distress.

"Misunderstanding?" Her voice rises in disbelief. "What are those papers, Salar? You said you love me."

"I do," I say desperately, "I love you so much."

She shakes her head, tears streaming down her face. "Then how do you explain this? You want me out of your life? You never wanted me in your life? I was always just a contract for you. I was never meant to be worthy of your love. Everything between us was a lie, and it didn't mean anything to you."

Her words cut deeper than any knife. I drop to my knees before her, my own tears blurring my vision. "No, Tanzeela, please. Let me explain. Our marriage started off as a mutually beneficial relationship. You saw that I wanted to protect you from those rumors, but actually, I didn't realize that I did it because I wanted to spend my life with you. I like you. I loved you. I loved you more than anything else."

She looks at me, her eyes searching mine for the truth. "How do you explain having those papers that will separate us from each other forever? Maybe this is what you want."

"No," I say vehemently. "I prepared the divorce papers for you because I thought that you were being forced into this relationship just to protect your image, just to protect your character in front of all this media. I prepared those papers because I wanted to see you happy. I thought that one day you'd come to me and say that you don't want to stay with me, that your happiness is somewhere else when our contract ended. And that is why I prepared those papers. I don't even know if they were there. I forgot about them completely, or else I would have burned those papers."
