Moving through the damp trees
a large farm soon came into view as a small group of men came running towards us,  looks of relief crossed their faces.

Nadine's grip on my hand grew tighter, a small frown on her face as she looked up at me worriedly.

Giving her hand a tight squeeze I look back towards the now confused men as a loud shot rang out.

An aching pain ran through my body as I fell to the ground, Nadine's cries echoed out as she covered her ears.

I slumped to the ground as my eyes went in and out of darkness.

My whole body felt as if it was on fire, I could feel my heartbeat in my eyes and my chest felt as if it was collapsing.

Screams could be heard in the distance as I felt myself being lifted.

My eyes rolled to the back of my head, and the last thing I saw was the clear blue sky and a bunny-shaped cloud coming into view.

The feeling of someone's warm hand cradling my face woke me from my sleep coma, Daryl's worried face inches from mine.

Quickly stepping back, he clears his throat as his ears turn a deep red, "How's your head?" He asked.

"It doesn't hurt, just feels like a mild headache," I said, looking around the small room.

Daryl sat in an old-looking rocking chair, his worried eyes continued to inspect my bandaged head until someone softly knocked on the door.

Nadine's curly head popped into the room, a once sad look now replaced with a relieved smile.

"Are you ok, is your head ok, you were bleeding a lot." She stuttered out, tears clouding her eyes as she wiped the snot from her nose with her pink sleeve.

Giving her a smile I quickly bring her into a hug, slightly sitting up on the bed she moves to lay next to me.

her damp cheeks wet my shirt as her dirty blonde hair sprawled out onto the fluffy pillow.

Another, slightly heavier knock, grabbed our attention as an older-looking man walked in, his snowy white hair slicked back and his face cleanly shaved.

"You're very lucky it was just a graze, you might have a slight headache for a few days but you're healthy." He said, a warm smile on his face as he unwrapped the silk-like bandage.

"You can stay here till you get better," He said as he finished wrapping my head back up.

"Thank you, I'm Y/n and this is Nadine," I said as I curled her hair between my fingers, sticking out his hand, he gave me another warm smile.

"I'm Hershel, Hershel Green." He said.

Maybe it won't be so bad here.
