1x02: The Weirdo on Maple Street

For the record, this was crazy.

Not only had Mike confronted the random bald girl in the woods, but he'd brought her to his basement as well. Now Sam, Lucas, Mike, and Dustin were left with the random bald girl to freak out and figure out what the hell was going on.

"Is there a number we can call for you?" Mike asked.

"I've got a number," Sam said. She was standing behind Mike with her arms crossed. "It's called CPS."

Mike's head flicked to Sam. He shot her a pointed look before he faced Random Bald Girl again. "Don't listen to her," he said.

"Where's your hair?" Dustin questioned from the other side of Mike, an awed look on his face. "Do you have cancer?"

"Did you run away?" Lucas asked.

"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Sam ased.

"Is that blood?" Lucas questioned incredulously.

He began creeping toward Random Bald Girl with his arm outstretched. Mike slapped Lucas's arm away.

"Stop it!" he scolded. "You're freaking her out!"

"She's freaking me out!" Lucas retaliated.

"She can probably hear you," Sam added, nodding toward her.

Dustin scoffed. "Probably not. I bet she's deaf!"

Sam sighed, pushing her glasses further up her nose. "Dustin, I—"

Cutting Sam off, Dustin lunged forward. He clapped his hands right in front of Random Bald Girl's face to test his theory. In return, Random Bald Girl flinched back and watched Dustin with wide, fearful eyes.

Dustin retracted, shrugging at his friends. "Not deaf," he concluded.

"That's enough, alright?" Mike snapped. "She's just scared and cold."

Sam watched Mike jog away for a second. He reached into a blue laundry basket full of clean clothes. She made eye contact with Lucas while they did That Thing Where They Communicated Wordlessly. Dustin once pointed out they did it all the time, and ever since, Sam couldn't help but notice it too. What she gathered from Lucas right now was that he thought Random Bald Girl was insane. And he wanted to send her back to whatever nuthouse she came from.
