Like many of other demigods, Brandi Costa's father was notably absent from her life. Although she knew who her father was, he never seemed to express any concern or care in the world. Her and her twin brother Eryx, were the sole inabitants of Cabin Three.
The Costa twins were the result of an affair between Poseidon and their mother, Rhea Costa, an italian-greek model.
The harsh reality of the situation was that, Poseidon wanted nothing to do with the Costa twins. They only reminded him of the summers he spent with the blonde model from Italy.
Despite this, everything Brandi did was for her father's praise. She trained day and night, seven days a week, thirty days a month, in the hopes that her father would grace her with his presence.
The Costa girl never actually met her father. Even during the day of the twins' birth, their mother told them that their father was too damned to even bother seeing his children brought into the world.
Eryx may have given up on their father but not Brandi. Sweet Brandi Costa only held a sense of pride and admiration towards her father.
If Eryx Costa was like the calm waves brushing upon the sand during a low tide, Brandi Costa was the violent surge of water during a high tide that drowned anyone who came across it.
