Somehow, someway, against all odds, Chad had managed to drag Ethan to some shitty Blackmore frat party. It was far from Ethan's scene, but he went nonetheless. Ethan convinced himself that he only wanted to go to keep people safe. A lot of drunk college students all in one space was the perfect storm for people getting into fights and lord knows what those frat boys were planning on doing to the drunk girls wandering around. He needed to protect them. That's what he told himself but that's only a half truth. The main reason he wanted to go, the reason that he wouldn't admit to anybody, not even himself, was that he missed you. It had been 2 weeks since your last interaction and it was killing him. After your little tiff in the park, you guys had spent the entire night getting to know each other. Sure you kept your identities secret but really the only way to trust each other was to pour your hearts out to each other. And you did. You talked to him about your parents and growing up in the city, your inherent need to protect the city. He told you about his dad, and his step brother's torment, crime spree and subsequent death, which had made him want to help people in order to right those wrongs, even if they weren't his. The conversation had gone seemingly great (he even dropped the kitty nickname for the equally annoying, but slightly less condescending, 'Pinkie'), but you had been MIA since.

It wasn't intentional, you had fallen behind on schoolwork due to your new late night crime fighting (how Spidey managed was beyond you), and had Ethan known that Pinkie and Y/N were one in the same, he would be able to corroborate your story. Alas your secret identity hindered Ethan from having the comfort of knowing you weren't avoiding Spiderman. The only holy grail of the situation was him getting to know you better. He had started hanging out more and more at your shared apartment, following Chad who tended to ditch him as soon as he saw Tara and if she was there, Mindy, leaving Ethan no option but to talk to Anika, who had no qualms with the boy, but often preferred to be around her girlfriend, which left you as his only option. He wasn't complaining, far from it actually. The boy enjoyed your presence, often opping to sit on the kitchen floor next to you while you worked on your backlogged assignments. In a sense, Ethan had developed a crush on you, which was very confusing considering his deepening feelings for the pink hero he was used to aiding. This internal conflict was seriously stressing Ethan and he was desperate to ignore his feelings, so yeah he was at this stupid fucking party.

Trying to ignore his feelings at this party was a futile attempt though, considering you also being part of the group (an arguably more vital and consistent part considering you lived with the carpenters), meant that you would most definitely be there. And there you are, dressed in a pink mini-dress with a fake crown on your head. Ironic. Because of course you would be a princess and the fact that he was dressed as a knight currently had his cheeks a burning red. Still, Ethan attempted to suppress his thoughts. The group had split and he remained with Chad and the two were both visibly drunk. Chad was attempting to get Ethan to find a girlfriend (or even just a hookup), and while the girls at the party were pretty, none of them were you, nor your alter ego. Speaking of you, after Ethans failed attempt to flirt with some girl in a harry potter costume, you had made your way to the boys. The alcohol had for sure taken over you as you stumbled over yourself. Swiftly, you pulled Ethan away from Chad (who was already waiting to leave and find Tara). The both of you danced, or attempted to dance, up until Anika came running up to you both saying that Sam had come, tased some guy who was trying to take advantage of Tara in the balls, and that you needed to leave now. The two of you, while slightly concerned, were hesitant to leave, not wanting to leave each other. Still, you walked out, trying to decipher whether your relationship with each other had changed became an afterthought as you caught up with the rest of the group in the middle of Tara and Sams screaming match, just in time to see some bitch throw her drink at Sam. Ethan offered Sam some napkins before following you back to your apartment. It was going to be a very long night. If only you knew.
