"Hey little bro."

The hero forced a smile. Usually it was pretty easy for him to do in situations that needed one. Maybe it was the uncertainty, the suddenness of it all, and the unfamiliarity that the distant years had brought that brewed an atmosphere of awkwardness. One that kept both boys from finding the next words to say and actions to take. His smile waived with each second that ticked by in silence.

Y/N didn't notice that. Or Yokumiru stepping back out of the room. He wasn't even thinking. His emotions battled out for control as dozens of memories looped in the background. This guy he saw on TV and online, this stereotypically perfect hero that millions adored, it was different being in his presence. There was no denying it, he was Keigo. Y/N knew it from the first moment he saw him through a screen. But he was unmistakable now.

Without warning the boy jumped up and hugged Hawks with such force he stumbled back in surprise. Those wings and arms kept him safe all those years ago, he wanted them again. A piece of him that is.

Realizing how sudden and childish his move was, Y/N picked himself back up and off of Hawks before he had a chance to reciprocate the hug. He hadn't expected himself to be so attached in the event that they met again.

"Don't be embarrassed, I missed getting hugs like that."

Y/N's lips wanted to take on the form of a smile when he heard that, especially now that he saw Hawks had a real one too. But after that moment of vulnerability, he didn't want to show too many cracks.

"I... I missed you, Keigo." He muttered out.

"Huh, I haven't heard that in a while..."

Y/N looked back up at his brother, who rubbed his neck. What does he mean by that?

Seeing the confusion, Hawks chuckled and explained. "I pretty much only go by Hawks these days. And now that I think about it, you were probably the last one to call me Keigo. I missed being called that. And I missed you too, Y/N."

Y/N sometimes wondered, especially when he was still little, if Keigo had forgotten about him. If he ever thought about him at all. If he missed him. After being deprived of a conclusion for so long, he could finally feel some kind of satisfaction. And it sparked so many things he wanted to do and talk about. He even found himself a bit curious about his brother's hero work, hero work of all things! Now knowing that he had thought about him.

"Why are you here?" Y/N asked with excitement. After all of those years he was curious why they finally got to see each other again, now of all times.

With a shrug, he gave the answer as casually as he could. "I wanted to come check up on you. I heard there was an incident, and what happened would be enough to shake up anybody."

No... not him too.

Y/N's burst of happiness faded as quickly as it had come. For a moment he really let himself believe this was a genuine moment, that his brother came to see him as nothing else but his brother. But it was the USJ. He was here as a benevolent hero.

"Are you just here to give me a talk? A lecture?" Y/N asked, his words almost stumbling. He wanted to be wrong. "Do you think I'm a villain?"

"No, no none of that. I'm on your side here. I promise."

I promise.

Those two words coming from him didn't carry the same weight.

But Y/N lacked the energy to fight and argue. He didn't have the will.

"I'm done talking about this problem that doesn't exist. There's no side to take. I just want to go home, okay?"

"Alright, I'm sorry I brought it up." Keigo's apology lacked any sarcasm. It was sincere and humble. "But, at least hear me out. I didn't come here to give you a presentation on good behavior. I'm here because I care about you. So let's forget about whatever went on today, and just catch a bit."
