Time of the Month

  I was only 11 years old, and at this time I had yet to get that time of month. Which, Splinter has given me the talk, of periods, and babies, which I was not excited to hear about, but I understood why he did. I didn't have anything to worry about though, I wasn't going to get my period anytime soon right? I only suspected something was wrong when I started feeling cramps in my stomach, and a bit annoyed with Mikey's music playing so loud. "Ugh, Mikey!! Turn it down will you? You don't need the music so loud every time you have it on!!" I yelled over the music furious with well, anything at the moment, but Mikey just happened to be the first victim.

 I didn't mean to get annoyed with him, but it was like almost any little thing would set me off, and I didn't know what was going on. I was beginning to act like Raph, and well, I hated it. I held a pillow against my stomach, and felt like I had to pee, so I made a haste to the bathroom. Mikey quickly left the area, visibly upset, and I felt guilty, knowing I would apologize to him later. I closed and locked the door, sighing in relief when I finished my business,only to look down and notice red. 

I froze and heard knocking on the door," Uh (Y/N) I really have to go!" Raph pounded on the door, and I frantically dug around looking for anything I could use, and I began to panic when I didn't see anything. "Uh...yeah, hold on!" I called out sighing and I grabbed some toilet paper, putting it on my underwear before walking out. "Took ya long enough!" he exclaimed shoving past me, and closing the door. I rolled my eyes, and I sighed now knowing what's been wrong, and I looked over seeing Mikey watching tv. "Uh, hey Mikey I just wanted to say I'm sorry for earlier. I'm just not myself lately...I promise I won't yell at you again." I explained, and Mikey grinned, and I blinked when I was given another death grip of a hug. "Mikey, can't breathe!" I exclaimed and he chuckled sheepishly and let me go. "Sorry, but I accept your apology sis. Besides Sensei explained it to me earlier, that you might not be yourself, I'll make sure not to play my music so loud." He said and I smiled," Thanks big M." I said his nickname which I haven't done in awhile, but felt it was appropriate for this time, and it seems to have made his day hearing that again, seeing him beam from hearing his old nickname, and skip on over to the couch. 

I sighed, and remembered April, and that her number was on the fridge if we needed anything. We had actually grown kind of close since she's been coming down to the lair, and I had to admit it was nice being able to have a human friend, let alone another girl. "Pick up, pick up." I muttered and sighed groaning, laying my head down as I felt annoyed., and a little bit nauseous, which didn't help. "Hey (Y/N) what's wrong?" I heard a voice, and looked up seeing it was Leo.

"Oh, n-nothing..." I muttered, not wanting to tell my older brother since well, it was a bit embarrassing. I couldn't admit it to myself, let alone my older brother. "Now, you know as well as I do that I don't believe that. Tell me, you know me of all guys won't judge." he stated and I looked at him, trying to see if he was kidding or not, before sighing in frustration. "I- well... I-I just started my period today.... we don't have anything I can use and I tried calling April to see if she could bring me something.. but I guess she's busy because she didn't pick up, a-and now I'm afraid of bleeding through my pants, and I feel nauseous because of it...I just feel miserable..." I grumbled, hiding my facce in my arms, and Leo frowned placing his hand on your back.

"Hey it'll be okay... it's getting dark out, we can stop by April's after patrol to see if she can get some stuff, or let you use hers." He said and you sighed and nodded. "Yeah, okay... but I don't think I'm well enough to go on patrol tonight.." you muttered and Leo smiled. "Don't wory, we got you covered." He stated and I smiled feeling relieved, until Mikey came running with Raph behind him. "Well, I do at least." He confirmed, and you couldn't help but to laugh despite how bad you were feeling. When the guys left, I decided to binge a good tv show I was currently watching in the moment, and decided I started to crave ice cream. 

   So I was binge watching the movie, and stuffing my face with ice cream, which actually seemed to help my cramps, at least for the time being, along with clutching onto a pillow. I found myself dozing off, not really realizing how long it had been until I heard footsteps, and I looked up and smiled seeing it was the guys, and Leo, who was carrying a bag full of stuff. "Here you go (Y/N), April also put in some sweets and stuff for you to snack on. She said the chocolate could help with the cramps, and that you'd know what she's talking about." He stated handing me the bag, and I couldn't contain the excitement as I hugged him. "Thank you thank you!!" I exclaimed happil and he chuckled. "You're welcome, now you can use those when you need them." He said and I blinked as I felt trickling down my leg. " And you might want to go now." He said and I nodded, my face a bright red in embarrassment. "Yeah, okay." I breathed out, rolling my eyes as the guys started to laugh, until I heard Leo putting some sense into them which made me smile, as I locked myself in the bathroom. 

  There was definitely blood trickling down my leg, which I cleaned up, and I sighed as I figured out what I wanted to use. Getting cleaned up, and put together, I put the other hygienic stuff under the sink, and sighed feeling a little better after taking some meds for pain relief. I walked out of the bathroom, and sighed as I slumped on the couch, getting a look from Raph. "Whats wrong with you?" he asked and I rolled my eyes and grabbed a chocolate candy bar April had put in the bag. "Raph, leave her alone." Leo butted in and Raph raised his hands up in defense," ALright jeez." he said standing up and going to the dummy to punch it repeatedly, which didn't surprise me since he did it almost every day. "Do you care if I put on Space Heroes?" Leo asked as I finished eating the piece of chocolate, and I shrugged. "Thats fine, I like Space Heroes too." I said, not minding the show, as to which Raph scoffed. "Geeks." he muttered, and I shook my head, snuggling in my warm and fluffy blanket as Leo turned on Space Heroes and sat close to the tv which made me smile and shake my head as I watched my brother geek out over the show.

While I was not feeling the best in the moment, I could count on my brothers to make me feel well at least, even if it was by bringing me stuff I needed, or just being their goofy self, which I found amusing as Mikey played a prank on Donnie, who chased him out of the lab with some kind of goo on his face. "Aaahhhhh, you're next (Y/N)!!!" he shouted, and I laughed shaking my head, not wanting to change this for the world.
