Four years later, German soldiers began to swarm the valley. Aiden ran to Amelia's bedroom and yelled, "Amelia wake up! We've got to go!" Aiden shook her but she wouldn't wake up. "Amelia, please!"

Aiden remembered what his mom said a long time ago after doing this, "Have faith my dear." Aiden held both hands over Amelia and closed his eyes. He envisioned her rising off the bed feeling better and happy. He started to cry but kept trying.

Aiden felt hands grab his. He opened his eyes and saw Amelia. He hugged her tight, "Look how much you've grown!" Amelia said.

"We have to go! They're back!"

Amelia sat up in alarm, "Where are the boys?"

"Everyone's evacuating! The nurses have them!"

"What nurses?"

"Come on!" Aiden hugged Amelia one more time before he left.

Crowds swarmed out of their homes but the nurses were holding back. Nora instructed each one of them to take a wagon with a number of ten patients.

"Get them out of here!" Nora yelled and turned to Amelia, "Amelia, take your brothers and this wagon and get yourselves out of here!"

Amelia took the boys and put them inside the wagon. Aiden watched over them as she quickly drove the horses out of the valley. She looked back at the town this time and saw a horrible sight. Countless citizens were killed and burned along with many houses.

"I wonder if home looked like this." Amelia said without realizing it and Aiden sat next to her.

"It probably did." Amelia was startled when Aiden said this but looked ahead.

The smoke from the valley disappeared after some time and the army was no longer there. Amelia turned and called for Aiden once he got the boys to sleep. Snow started to fall from the sky, coating the ground.

"What month is it, Aiden?" Amelia started.

"It's the start of December."

"How long has it been?"

"Four years," Aiden looked sadly away.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay, you're here now," Aiden forced a smile.

"I know what your real smile is like and that one is not real."

Aiden let the smile disappear, "I thought you'd never wake up, just like mom."

"If anything like that happens again, will you promise me something?" Amelia smiled.

"Yeah?"

"Promise me, if anything happened to me," Amelia glanced at the boys, "You'd take care of them for us."

"Who's us?"

"Jared, Anna, Mom, Dad, and me. Do you promise?"

"I promise!" Aiden hugged Amelia, "As long as you stay alive as long as you can."

Amelia hugged him and his real smile came back, "There it is!"

Aiden laughed and Amelia then asked him, "How old are you?"

"10!"

"And the boys?"

"They're both four years old."

"How old am I?"

"You're sixteen."

Amelia gasped in surprise. "You're beautiful though," Aiden said, "You look like Mama."

"But I've got brown hair with brown eyes while the rest of you have got blonde with blue eyes."

"I still see her in you no matter how different you could be," Aiden smiled.

"How would you know that?"

"Learned it from you." Amelia smiled as her brother said this.

The snow had stopped and the sky was clear, full of stars, "Off to bed, Aiden." When Aiden went to sleep, Amelia looked up into the sky and said, "Thank you for watching them, my Father in Heaven."

Hours went by and morning came. Amelia had trouble staying awake. Aiden woke from his slumber and offered to take her place. Amelia went to the back of the wagon, cuddling with the little boys.

"Where should we go next?" Aiden asked, looking into the sky.
