Tears

Chapter Twelve

The officer didn't say anything but left holding Fredrick's hands behind his back. Fredrick accepted his fate, going with them. One officer stayed behind to explain the situation.

"Mr. Sanders has been seen during multiple robberies. He is a suspect of these robberies, so he is on his way to the station to be questioned," translated Cassandra as the French officer finished speaking.

Amelia turned to Cassandra, "So he's going to jail? They said they would only do that if he kidnapped us!"

"Not jail, Amelia," said Cassandra, "He's just being questioned."

"I'll bet it was Horus and Tarden! They framed him!" Yelled Amelia.

This caught the French officers attention and asked further questions, "Who are those of which you speak?"

Amelia was surprised by his German question but answered, "Horus and Tarden came to this house last night. They were searching for something but nothing was taken. At least I don't think so."

"Can you describe Horus and Tarden?"

"Yes, Horus has dark brown hair and Tarden has blonde hair," Amelia described.

"They haven't had any criminal records before, but yes they have been suspected once in every case so far."

"Why aren't they arrested?" asked Aiden with a furied voice.

"Well, they have always proved to be innocent." Aiden looked down at the floor.

"Not this time!" Amelia stormed away to her room.

Amelia thought to herself, 'I'm going to make sure those two get arrested! Fredrick did nothing wrong!' Amelia slammed the door behind her.

Cassandra turned to the officer, "May I go to the station?"

"I will escort you there," The officer answered.

Cassandra nodded and turned to Aiden, "Please keep her out of trouble and take care of her. Benjamin, Miles, come with me."

Aiden nodded and watched Cassandra and the officer disappear in the distance. Some time later, Aiden heard a ruckus going on in Amelia's room. Getting up to go check it out, his leg failed him again. He resisted and kept going. Once he opened the door, a notebook flew at him. In an instant he ducked and the book hit the wall behind him.

Aiden tried to stand straight again but his back screamed at him. Amelia finally noticed him and smiled. She gathered papers and books, walking towards him.

"I have figured out a way to get them caught!"

"Already?" said Aiden.

"Yes my first idea was to find out where their next step is and somehow get them stuck in a situation."

"How would we-" Aiden heard the front door and peered out of the door frame. He saw Horus and Tarden. He ran towards Amelia and pushed her into the closet. "Don't say a word," he whispered to her.

Heavy footsteps echoed through the house. Amelia's door swung open, banging into the closet door. Aiden held Amelia's mouth shut putting a finger to his mouth. "Shh," he shushed quietly.

"Horus, they're not here!"

"Yes they are, I saw someone come in here."

"Are you sure it wasn't a different room?" complained Tarden.

"It's this one."

Things were being thrown across the room, banging into the walls. Amelia and Aiden waited in the closet quietly. After some time the banging stopped.

"The closet..." said Horus.

Aiden grew into panic and pushed Amelia in the clothes. He pushed himself to the opposite side. Horus scanned the closet and slammed the door shut. They listened and waited for the two to leave. After a while, they both fell asleep.

Cassandra had come home and noticed the quiet house. She had dropped the two boys off at her sister's house. Cassandra cautiously scanned the house. Getting to Amelia's room, she looked at it with horror. Wall dents were all over the room and the door was off of its hinges. The bed was caved in the center and clothes were everywhere.

Cassandra grew into panic, "Amelia? Aiden?" She looked towards the closet but the main door blocked it. As it was too heavy, she searched through the rest of the house, "Amelia? Aiden?"

Aiden woke up hearing Cassandra's voice. He crawled to Amelia on the opposite side of him. She still slept leaning against the wall. Aiden stood up to open the door but it wouldn't budge.

"Cassandra!" Aiden yelled startling Amelia.

Amelia woke up with fear, "Aiden?"

"The door is jammed! We can't get out!"
