There it was. The biggest high school. Jaybe thought to herself. Jaybe has always been popular, probably because of her looks and her boyfriend. But she would never let being popular change her relationship with Mei, her best friend, since forever.
Jaybe and Mei have been friends ever since third grade, We can get into how they met later. Jaybe would kill for her. She would do a lot for Mei.
Her thoughts were interrupted by her mom snapping her fingers.
"Bee! You still there? I said have a nice day at school, you too Mei."
Jaybe almost forgot Mei was in the car with her, because she hardly ever spoke. Well around other people.
"Oh! Yeah sorry mom!" Jaybe said as she hoped out of the car. Mei opened the door, and walked over to where Jaybe was standing.
"Bye mom!"
"Bye sweetie! Bye Mei!"
They waved at the car as it drove away.
"Aren't you excited?! First day of Sophomore year, at the brand new school?!" Jaybe seemed a little too excited for Mei's liking.
"I guess.." Mei mumbled.
"Come on! They always say new year new me!"
Jaybe chuckled and Mei pushed her glasses up, and there they went.. into the school, or almost made it, until they saw Marina.
"JAYBE? MEI? Is that you?" Marina yelled. Marina goldys, Jaybe would describe her as out going, not as out going as Hayda, you'll meet her later, but still out going.
"Marina! You look amazing!" Jaybe said before they crashed into a hug.
Mei stood there and watched as they hugged, she wasn't really the type for physical contact but she could never say no to a "Marina hug."
"Hey, don't think I forgot about you!" Marina said before crashing Mei with a hug, but it wasn't long because even though Marina can be much, she always has respect for the deserved.
"So how have y'all been? What's new?"
"Not a lot really"
"You still with Ray?"
Ray Matcher. Jaybes boyfriend, if you would even call him that. He's not very nice to Jaybe and he use to bully Mei, but Jaybe said that he had changed, he didn't really. In fact Jaybe hasn't spoken to him since the "incident" but we can get into that later too...
"Yeah, but I think I might end it soon."
"Really?" Mei asked almost relived.
"Yeah, he's been such a di-"
Jaybe was cut off by the bell.
"Well better get going I'll see y'all later!"
Marina shouted before running into one of the halls. Jaybe just looked at Mei, then they darted to a room that read "234" and another that read "235."
"I'm in 235.." Mei whispered.
"I know.." Jaybe said, disappointed.
"It's okay! We probably have another class together!" Jaybe added.
Mei sighs and looks up at Jaybe.
Maybe I should've added that Jaybe is taller than Mei but I guess it doesn't matter.
"I'll see you at lunch?" Jaybe managed to get out. Mei nodded as they walked into their classes. As soon as Jaybe walked into hers, paper was being thrown, kids were sitting on tables, and the teacher wasn't even in the room yet. One of the papers almost hit her in the face.
"Hey! Watch it!" Jaybe yelled, causing the room to go silent and everyone to look at her.
"Well? Who threw it at me? You could at least say sorry!" Jaybe said looking around, getting frustrated. She was about to say something else until she was interrupted by a Green headed girl. The saige girl jumped off one of the desks and walked towards Jaybe.
Jaybe didn't know whether to be scared or mad.
"I'm really sorry! That might've been me... Did the paper have a 'I heart L' on it?" The girl asked. Jaybe looked a mixture between frustrated and confused.
"What? I don't know! All I know is one of you immature animals threw it at me!"
"Woah.. calm down there partner! It was obviously a accident!" The green haired girl said in a western accent. Jaybe looked even more confused. She felt incredibly confused.
" y'know what! It's fine I don't care anymore!"
Jaybe said as she walked over to a empty desk. She placed her stuff down and sat down. 'Oh this is gonna be a interesting year' she thought as she looked around more. The green haired girl was laughing with a whole bunch of other girls and boys. Jaybe continued to watch them laugh until the green haired girl went over to a girl in the corner, and the girl looked oddly familiar..
"Loti! Come have fun! It's the first day of school!" There it was..
Loti Summers. She looked different freshman year.. her hair was longer, way longer. Looks like she cut it short. Her thoughts were once again interrupted, by the teacher.
"Hello class my names Mrs. Burningham, I'll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the year." Mrs Burningham did not seem like she gave two shits about teaching.
"I'm gonna call role, just say here or present."
She began calling role and Jaybe started to dozz off until she heard a specific voice say
" Hayda Ramming"
"Here!" The green haired girl said.
Hayda Ramming? Never heard of her? Maybe once because the name sounded familiar. But who couldn't forget someone as chaotic as her!
"Loti Summers"
"Here" A little voice mumbled.
"Loti Summers? Is she here?"
"I'm her-"
"She right there" Hayda said, blowing a kiss and pointed to Loti.
Strange. Jaybe thought.
"Oh my apologies."
Loti just looked at Hayda, the most 'I'm done
with your shit face' Jaybes ever seen.
Time fly's by fast because as soon as Jaybe knows it, it's already time for lunch.
Jaybe rushes out the class room waiting for Mei, but as shes looking into the class room she saw.. Her.
Maxine Wolverton.
Maxine and Jaybe were friends, keyword were, before the incident, again we'll get into that later. All Jaybe cared about right that moment was trying to find Mei and avoid Max.
"Boo!" someone yelled behind Jaybes ear.
Jaybe yelped and quickly turned around, and surprise surprise it was.. Marina.
"Damn girl, I didn't expect you to jump like that, sorry" Marina chuckled.
"No it's okay! I guess I was just really focused on finding Mei."
"First time not having homeroom together?"
"Yeah.."
"Well here she's comes!"
Mei walked out of the room, eyes widened in confusion of what happened.
"Everything alright?" she asked, quietly.
"Tots! Let's get going!" Jaybe said, pulling Marina and Mei right as Max walked out.
Jaybe was worried Max saw her but she had high hopes she didn't.
Her high hopes were wrong.
Maxine Wolverton very much saw her.
Pretty well.
