- you see, i like to think this goes one of two ways:
he stays in vermont, and in the same town, and teaches english at welton to follow in keating's footsteps. yk he's a happy dude he keeps in contact with the poets, even if they grow their own families and move away from vermont/the town they lived in. he's a great teacher, and the students enjoy him being there. in the future he finds someone else to love, whether it be a man or a woman (it would be the 60s/70s), although with neil still in the back of his mind, he lets himself happily move on, sure that neil would want him to do so. though, i feel also todd would also still sometimes have his... "episodes" where he gets depressed over what happened, but he gets himself out of it eventually.
OR
takes a "since i saw vienna" by wilbur soot route (song is linked at top) and travels around, trying to find somewhere where something doesn't remind him of neil, or where he could just get away from the thought of him. even if that means cutting off all the dead poets and leaving them behind, and even if that means never settling down to rest in a comfortable place, or even finding a place to call home. his home was neil, and neil is gone. (you'll have to rip angst away from my cold dead hands) (maybe i'll make a oneshot of this eventually tbh idk)

- going with the daughter thing, if neil's dead, todd tells elizabeth many stories about neil and welton. elizabeth is very determined to find a way to "cheat the system" and get into welton to make her own dead poets society... it's not happening
- todd still has the DPS book, he keeps it on the bookshelf in his room. (5 centuries of verse! thanks kelz :3)
