The Scent of Home
The laughter that filled the dining room was a balm to Jeongguk's soul. It was exactly like the sound he had longed to hear for centuries, a sound that signified a sense of belonging, of laughter and a family he never knew was missing.
His crimson eyes watched as Taehyung, his mate, his luna, his heart, sat at the table, his eyes wide with wonder as he took in the sights and sounds of the pack house.
Seokjin, ever the gracious but overly dramatic host, had already filled Taehyung's plate with a mountain of food, a mix of savory and sweet that was sure to please even the most discerning palate. It even had two other plates filled with different kinds of fruits and desserts.
Indeed the omega loves to be extra.
Taehyung, however, had his ocean eyes fixed and seemed more interested in observing the pack dynamics than in indulging in the feast before him.
Gone with that dominant and knee dropping aura of the trueblood, his doe eyes watched as Namjoon and Seokjin bickered playfully over their daughter, a tiny bundle of pink swaddled in a soft blanket. He watched as Yoongi, with a grumpy yet endearing expression, tried to coax his mate, Jimin, now down from the counter, but now unfolding another nonsense argument.
And then his eyes watched as Hoseok, his face alight with joy, regaled the pack with a story, his voice animated and his laughter sounds contagious.
Jeongguk, seated beside Taehyung, felt a surge of warmth spread through his chest. He had never felt so at peace, so content. His mate was safe, surrounded by his pack, and he, Jeongguk, was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief, for a while.
"It's... different," Taehyung whispered, his voice a soft murmur that only Jeongguk could hear.
Jeongguk turned to him, his gaze meeting those captivating blue eyes. "Different from what you expected?" he asked softly. His hand then gently tuck the other's silver hair behind the ears.
Taehyung nodded, his brow furrowed in thought. "I... I don't know. I thought it would be more... intimidating. More... dangerous."
Jeongguk was taken back,This trueblood in front of him was way different from the one he met days back. Even him, a trueblood alpha himself was intimidated by simply how Taehyung looks and speaks to them before. He can't help but to feel bad for his mate, he can't even remember who he really is.
The baddass trueblood with his shiny silver sword who made him fall not only in sword fighting but also in love..
The alpha can't help but to chuckle, a soft, rumbling sound that vibrated through his chest. "This is the Silver Moon pack, Taehyung. We are a family. We protect our own."
Taehyung's gaze softened, a hint of understanding dawning in his eyes. "But... I don't remember any of this. I don't remember any of you." His omega looks up to him, The alpha's sure he could kiss the other right there just as how adorable he was.
But Jeongguk refrained himself from doing so and instead, he reached out, his hand gently cupping Taehyung's cheek. "It's okay, love. You will. It will all come back to you. But for now, just focus on being here, with us. Let us help you remember."
