A Gathering of Shadows
The great hall of Silver Moon Pack echoed with the hushed murmurs of anticipation. Torches flickered, casting dancing shadows on the rough-hewn walls, illuminating the assembled warriors.
The air hung thick with the weight of unspoken anxieties, the scent of pine and damp earth mingling with the underlying tension of impending war. Seated at the head of the long, oak table, Jeongguk, Alpha of Silver Moon, surveyed his pack with a grim expression.
Beside him, standing is Taehyung, their Luna, silently, his usual calm demeanor replaced by a subtle tension that radiated from him like heat. Thana, Taehyung's half-sister and a powerful Vampire wolf, stood silently at Taehyung's side, her keen crimson eyes scanning the room, her presence a palpable force that the warriors somewhat still feel chills down their spine soon as she looks at them from time to time.
Jeongguk's voice, deep and resonant, cut through the quiet. "The whispers of war grow louder now, my pack. As they approach with their numbers swelling, their intentions becomes darker. We have two choices: we meet them on their ground, a bloody battle on their terms, or we wait. We make Silver Moon the fortress, let them come to us."
A murmur rippled through the assembled warriors. Some nodded in agreement, their faces grim but resolute. Others shifted uneasily, their eyes betraying their apprehension.
Taehyung remained silent, his gaze fixed on the flickering flames, his jaw tight, his brow furrowed in clear disapproval of Jeongguk's plan.
The tension in his shoulders was almost palpable, a stark contrast to his usual calm demeanor. He hadn't spoken since Jeongguk finished outlining his strategy, a silence that hung heavy in the air, punctuated only by the low hum of nervous conversation amongst the assembled warriors.
Thana, however, had noticed the subtle shift in Taehyung's body language. She only met him personally a few days prior, after the events that had brought her to Silver Moon. It was a whirlwind introduction filled with explanations of their shared parentage and the urgency of the impending war.
The Park's relationship was still nascent, a fragile connection forged in the midst of chaos. Despite this, she recognized the familiar signs of suppressed frustration in Taehyung's posture.
Leaning closer, she whispered, her voice barely audible above the murmur of the warriors, "Taehyung," she said, her tone gentle but firm.
Her brother didn't looked at her but she saw how his eyes turned pure silver in a split second. He is more like mad she could tell.
It's been a while since she stayed at the pack and through those days she spent with them, If there's one thing she was amused but thrilled to always observe, that's the Alpha and Luna's bond. She loves how his brother, Taehyung contradicts his mate and prove to everyone how great he can be too that he never fail to amuse them.
"Your face says you disagree. Why don't you share your thoughts? We all know your strategic mind works." The words hung in the air, a subtle challenge laced with an unspoken understanding of their shared situation.
Thana was acutely aware that Taehyung was still processing their newly discovered familial connection, and this was a delicate situation to navigate but as the older, she is trying her best to be on his brother's good side, Taehyung is all she has and she will protect him no matter what.
Taehyung groaned, running a hand through his long silver hair, the gesture betraying his inner turmoil. "It's not that simple, Thana," he replied, his voice low, a hint of frustration coloring his words.
